Satisfied, decent lock

I just bought a new house and wanted a smart lock so I could set up codes for the people coming in to do renovations instead of giving each one a physical key, and also so I could monitor the status of the door from afar. I like it's functionality with the codes. I like that, if you install the door sensor, it can auto lock when the door is closed. I don't like that the geofencing for auto unlock takes so long to connect that I will already be in the house (via code or physical key) and have the door locked back, then hear it auto unlock. I ended up turning that feature off and just using the code every time. If I'm not going to be able to use the geofencing for auto unlock, I wish I had gotten the model that reads fingerprints so I could use that instead of wearing out the buttons for the same code all the time, potentially making it easier for someone to guess my code in the future. Overall, I'm happy with it. It gets the job done.

Works Well Enough

So, I will say it works well enough. First, let me talk about the installation. It took me less than 15 minutes to exchange the deadbolt on my house. I understand that some people struggled with installing that and I wonder if that is the fault of how the door is cut versus the deadbolt itself. It installed without any issue and was quite easy to put together. No worse than any other deadbolt I have installed. Second, the application. It did take me about 15 minutes to get that setup and configured as a skill with Alexa. It was a tad annoying that I had to be inches from the lock to configure it but it does mention that in the instructions. I believe I read a review that indicated that it didn't convey that - I promise that it said it right on the screen when I was setting up the lock, so I set my cell phone on top of the lock as I figured I could not get much closer than that. Third, setting up the additional codes was a breeze. I was able to easily configure two additional codes for my brother and friend that come to my house quite often. I sent them the code via double-cryptic-cipher -- no, I'm kidding, I just texted it to them -- and they were both able to get in the house. Fourth, I said there was something annoying. I disabled auto-lock but sometimes it decides to still auto-lock the door while I have it open. I am not entirely sure why it does that, but that is the one complaint that I do have. Fifth, be sure to replace the striker plate in your door frame with theirs. I made the mistake of saving 90 seconds and not replacing it and occasionally the lock would jam and not want to open. This is entirely my fault and due to nothing more than my own laziness. Once I put in their striker plate, I have not had any issues. So, I suppose I should say it took me less than 15 minutes plus 90 seconds to install the lock after I came back to really finish the job. All in all, it does what it says it will do. It keeps your door locked. It allows you to set codes. It connects to Wifi if you get the Wifi enabled version -- note that it says clearly on the product that it has a bluetooth only version or the bluetooth plus Wifi version. Spend the extra money on the Wifi and have it connect happily to your router and be able to "talk" to the lock remotely. It will make your day. Or evening. Whatever time of day that you happen to leave your house and wonder if you remembered to lock your door or not. Which is why I bought this.

Good Features

Bought on sale as a bundle with the wifi bridge. Pros: Works great! locks, unlocks, never need my keys again! it does begin telling you when the batteries are dying, which for me took about 11 months on 4x AA Duracell Optimum. Setup is easy, including connecting to the wifi bridge and home network. Cons: App notifications fail when you restart your phone. You have to re-open the app at least once so it can properly go to the background again. Upgrading phones, when logging in for the first time, it somehow 'forgets' that you're the owner of the lock that's already attached to your account, so you need to remove the lock from your account, and re-add it manually. Plus Side: all user settings are stored in the lock, and are preserved. If they can fix the notification/background bug, so the app auto-backgrounds on startup like my battery and weather apps do, it would be 5 stars.

Try not to reset lock, only way to reconnect delete all

Reconnect was a little difficult took time to reconnect had to delete back to start. didn’t realize ur admin was how u open from outside, stand-alone or app one or the other ! found that out after I tried it.

Lock failure

Lock was great for the 1st month and then lock failed after 1 month. No customer support-will not answer phone, return voice messages, or emails. Warranty/customer support is nonexistent. After I wrote the review I did receive a new lock. Have installed and seems to be working well. Hopefully no more failures.

Great Customer Service!

Product was perfect when we got it. At some point, it did malfunction. I thought the batteries were dying and it took me a long while to reach out to Ultraloq, because life gets busy! When I contacted them through their website, they got back to me really fast and sent a new piece immediately, which took about 5 minutes to replace. After the installation, the "digital brains" were still hooked up to my app, so they were linked together - immediately. It fixed the problem! Fantastic customer service! I would definitely recommend, because it's really important to know that when you buy something on Amazon, that you have an option to reach out to the company -- even after the return date has expired! Thank you Ultraloq!!!

Does not let you schedule specific times and dates

The whole reason for purchasing this was unit was to set codes for a short term rental, but the feature we wanted most is not included. That feature is the ability to set dates and times for user codes to work. Other Wi-Fi locks have it, and this one easily could and the user forum is full of people asking for this feature, but it just is not there and does not appear to be coming soon. We’re sending it back for this reason, but also because the app doesn’t work quite as effectively and simply as others we’ve used. Overall it’s okay, but there are certainly better Wi-Fi controlled locks available.

A great lock with superb after-sales service

This lock is terrific - it's easy to use, relatively easy to instal, and I love that I can program it remotely to let anyone I want into the house with the own unique code. I also love that I can remotely lock the door, or re-program so that a user no longer has access. I struggled to get the wifi bridge working, but the team at Ultraloq were fantastic. They very quickly determined that the bridge was faulty and sent me a new one, which arrived within 2 days. Goodbye keys!

Great customer support and happy with product

Very easy to instal. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Had a bit of an issue with the product but the customer service assisted with troubleshooting and swiftly resolved my issue with a replacement. The new lock is working perfectly. Haven't had a chance to evaluate battery life yet but everything else has been great.

Mostly great, couldn’t get wifi connection

Like many other reviews, the bridge just does not work. Ugh! So I can’t connect it to wifi. But other than that I love it. It was easy to install, it was buggy though, I had to rest it a few times and go in and out of the app to make it work. I played around for a while and then it magically worked. At the end I’m happy.

WiFi Technology is Outdated

Disappointed with this product the wifi technology only connects to 2.4GHz and has not worked at all since day one. Customer support is also clueless and cannot help. Everything else is fine but this is very disappointing.
