Ok but sent wrong color shades

The lamps themselves are fine and seem like a good value for the money, but I specifically wanted and ordered white shades and the ones they sent were tan. Very disappointed in that, but getting the lamps out of the styrofoam jungle they were packed in was such a hassle that there's no way I'm going to repack them and send them back. I'm hoping the seller will simply send me four white shades. UPDATE: Took me awhile, but I finally got some wonderful help from the Ashley Furniture parts dept. "chat" person and she resolved this issue and allowed me to select replacement white shades at no cost. They arrived quickly and look great. The problem was with the Amazon listing because that lamp doesn't come with a white shade.

Seems decent for the money/shorter than advertised

So these are just basic lamps with a nice design for my needs. They are thin stamped type metal construction. They are about an inch shorter than the advertised height so I am not terribly happy about that as I have a tall bed and tall nightstands and I needed a little bit taller than normal of a lamp and I ordered these based on the description with is incorrect. The main description shows 30 inches tall and the description farther down says 29. They are more like 28.5 tall. I looked for options online and I guess some people just put books under their lamps or get these wood blocks that can be finished in any color to raise the lamps up. I like the look of them. These are supposed to be three way switches but I don't know who the hell would be using 3 way, antiquated, incandescent bulbs anymore. I use 60 watt led bulbs and leave it on the switch position whereby my zwave, GE smart outlet can control the on/off and dimming of the bulbs via my Samsung Smartthings setup. It is also voice controlled with my Amazon Echo/Alexa on my night stand. On a side note here I also have an automation where these lamps start coming on at 1 percent brightness at a specific time in the morning and ramp up to a 20 percent brightness over a period of 5 or 10 minutes. This is all adjustable through samsung smartthings. I tried 100 watt led bulbs and they worked great and were very bright with these. The dimmest part though was too bright so that is why I am using 60 watt leds. I wasn't impressed with the rubber foam stuff on the bottom of the metal lamp on one of the lamps. It was cut too small of a diameter and didn't keep the metal portion properly cushioned from whatever surface this lamp would be put on. Something to note if you have nice wood surfaces and move the lamp which could result in scratches. These do require assembly which was easy enough. The packaging is kind of a pain in the behind with all tape and pieces of white styrofoam going all over. There were a few dark ink type stains on one of my shades. Not happy about that but I rotated them out of sight and they were small. I would most likely order these again if I needed more lamps. I visited the local Home Depot and wasn't impressed with their selection and price. I am just a single dad with no decorating skills at all and after many years of not having lamps next to my bed I am really glad to have purchased these. Having lamps on each side of the bed really changed the feeling of the room and I wished I had bought lamps years ago. Having the voice control dimming really makes them convenient. I just say "echo light" or "echo dark" to turn them on or off.

Very nice lamps!!

I got a set of these and they are very nice! So nice that I ordered a second set!! I'm very pleased with them. They're a nice weight and the base isn't so big that there's no room for anything else. They're perfect! I highly recommend them. And the price is Great for 2 Lamps.

Cheap poor quality switches are this lamps downfall

Lamps looked nice for my purpose and initially happy with my purchase. Unfortunately right out of the box it was obvious the switches were cheap and flimsy. That was confirmed in less than 6 months as the switch in the lamp with the most frequent usage has worn out and will need to be replaced. The other lamp is turned on and off with a wall switch so the lamp switch never gets used. Are any lamps still manufactured in the USA? I wish Amazon would at least offer us some options in our purchases. I'm sick of nearly everything coming from China.

You Get What You Pay For

These lamps are fine for what they are. They're kind of ugly and utilitarian, but they work; there's not much more to be said about them.

Beautiful lamps!

I had needed to replace our beside lamps for some time but I am also quite picky when it comes to style. I'm also very frugal so I was utterly disgusted when I went out looking for lamps at stores and seeing how much they cost. These lamps are gorgeous. They're solid. They are tall (so actually bigger than what are advertised as bedside lamps) and that's perfect since our night stands are at the same height as our bed so we need something a little higher. I love that these take 3 way bulbs. The pictures that Amazon shows of these lamps make them seem glossier than they actually are. They have more of a matte finish. They don't look like wood, but they do't look like metal either. I can't describe it. But these really fit in nicely with my bedroom. The lamp shade is also nice and thick, but not too thick that it prevents illuminating the room. I wasn't sure if I was going to like a shade that was a little more "round" than what I had previously (I had shades that looked like tall trapezoids on each side) but I just love them. I might just get another set of these lamps for my living room!

I have been looking for new lamps for years with no luck. I can't tell you how many I have purchased and taken back. These popped up in my search a few days ago. They were everything I was looking for and an excellent price so I had to give them a try. They are perfect. The bases are dark brown with some gold trim on rims of base. The bases have a good weight to them. The shades are wheat colored. They use a 3-way bulb, but I only have regular 60 watt in them. Higher watt bulbs were way too bright. If you are looking to update lamps and want a brown base, I highly recommend these. Lamps are 30" tall. They arrived (in a week) in a box that is deceptively small for lamps this size. The person who designed the packaging deserves an award--used every cubic inch of space wisely. Really nice lamps and an excellent price.
