Moisturized hair but made scalp itchy!

Poor bottle design, decent product.

Smell is not bad, but very strong. Makes hair feel a little greasy. Bottle design could use some work as the top of the pump broke off in transit, so I am unable to use the pump and have to just open the lid to use the product. Nothing special, and probably wouldn't purchase again but it isn't bad either. Also seems a bit overpriced.

Great For Most Hair

I was so excited to find this scalp conditioner. This brand that has a great reputation as a quality product. I used it per the instructions and massaged it into my scalp and tried to comb through my very long, very thick hair (as I do with my normal conditioner) but no way was a comb going through my hair. Instead, I concentrated on getting the conditioner onto my scalp and letting it sit for 3 minutes. I found the conditioner soothing on my scalp with a nice mild scent. After rinsing, my hair was a tangled mess. I then used my normal conditioner to detangle and comb through. Because I generally use a heavy conditioner, I had the 2 males in my household, each with short hair, use this. Neither of them use any conditioner normally. They both raved about this conditioner and how nice it feels on their scalp, especially here in the middle of winter. My husband says his hair has never felt softer. My son says he will use this from now on. I debated how to rate this item because what works for me is generally too heavy for most. The fact is, even though this conditioner doesn't work for me, I will be buying it from now on because my guys refuse to go back to dry scalp and dry hair.

Performs pretty well but I don’t like the scent

This review is for the “SheaMoisture Scalp Moisture Conditioner” with Aloe Butter & Vitamin B3. The pump came shrink wrapped to the bottle which I really appreciated! I feel this keeps it more hygienic and gives it some extra protection from leaking or breaking in shipment. Scent: I don’t like how this smells unfortunately. It’s got a weird medicinal undertone to it, like how aspirin or acetaminophen smell? At least, that’s all I can think of when I smell it. Performance: I do think this product left my hair softer than usual, but maybe that’s mostly due to the fact that you’re directed to apply it to the scalp and not just your ends.

Feels great on my scalp

I use lots of different Shea Moisture products and really love the brand in general so I was excited to try this one. I loved the way it felt on my scalp, it had a little tingle to it about a minute after putting it on. It was not as slick as some of my other conditioners and I found that I could not comb it through with my wide tooth comb as I normally would. Overall I did like the product but will probably stick with some others from the brand that I like better.

Love Shea Moisture products, not a great detangler

I love lots of products from Shea Moisture. I started using them when my 11yo was a baby. Their baby eczema lotion is terrific and the face moisturizers great. I love that they are vegan, cruelty free and have none of the bad stuff. As for this conditioner, it’s pretty good. But I have to use kind of a lot of it to get through my hair. I included a picture of my hair after using it, not that that will help you. My hair feels and looks good (I think), but the conditioner doesn’t have that “slippery” feel that some do which makes it easy to comb all the loose hairs from my thick, curly hair with my hands when I wash it. I’ll probably get a different conditioner next time for that reason, but it might be the Shea Moisture brand. I just love them.

Smells nice, rinses clean and does a great job adding moisture to curls.

In addition to making your curls pop, SheaMoisture's scalp moisture conditioner will also help to alleviate dry scalp. The conditioner is thick like most SheaMoisture conditioners, and the scent is pleasant and not overpowering. It's a thick conditioner. In my house, we use far more conditioner than shampoo since our hair can dry out easily. Most of us have some curl to our hair, and textures range from 3b to 4c. Though the directions state to use it as a normal conditioner, it works well if applied to hair about an hour before shampooing too. While I've noticed no real change in scalp dryness, I'm also not using it with the Scalp Moisture shampoo. Most products are designed to work best when used together, and with only half of the set I can't really say for sure if its working well as a scalp conditioner. But for curls, it's as fantastic as any other SheaMoisture shampoo.

good moisturizing, light fragrance, tad expensive

Per oz, this is more expensive than any of the name-brand options or even Shea's own other conditioners. While it hydrates well and has a pleasant light fragrance, didnt think it justifies a significant price premium. When used with the anti dandruff pre-shampoo, this conditioner really helped a teen's scalp and reduced dandruff. Less harsh than other options, perhaps. But price/value is not compelling, even compared to other conditioner options from the same brand.
