Great watch

The watch looks great. I love that it is solar powered and also syncs the time automatically every night. I do have to keep it fairly high above ground level to get a good time sync, but that will depend on your distance from the time source. I have had this watch for awhile now with no issues.

Gorgeous Seiko Watch Worthy of the "Seiko" Brand Name

This is just flat-out a gorgeous watch. It has a dress appearance and is best used as a dress watch, although I am sure some people use it for everyday wear. It has a black face with all gold hands and markings, and then a mixture of gold and silver for both the case and the band. The method of coloring on the case and band make it so that the watch will look either more gold or more silver, depending on which angle you are viewing from. If you look carefully at the out ring of the black face, you will see concentric trace markings which add an elegance to the watch but are probably also part of the antenna system the watch uses to keep time. Yes, that's right, this particular model, once you set it up, connects with the nearest official time broadcast and keeps itself adjusted to that signal, the reason why this particular model is more expensive than other Coutura watches which look almost identical but do not have this radio function. And, yes, hooray, that same timing function keeps the date accurate month-to-month as well! The watch has a nice heft to it, but its bracelet is comfortable due to the use of soft curves, and this makes the weight less of an issue. It has one of traditional Seiko clasp functions where you squeeze the outside of the band to unlock the bracelet, and then a double-fold mechanism angles out, allowing you to remove the watch while reducing the possibility of dropping it since the band always stays connected (great design). The stem is a screw-down type so that you unscrew it first before engaging it, and then screw it back down when you are done making adjustments. This is a beautiful watch that really does seem worth more than you pay for it, and it has an elegance that is squarely in the mid-range Seiko line-up. It's terrific. But I would be remiss if I did not mention that this is a complicated watch to set up when you first receive it. There are four case buttons plus the stem that you must use in a very specific order to set the time zone, then ensure you are picking up the radio signal from your area, and making minute first adjustments. It's not impossible, but it's not for those in a hurry, either. You have to take your time to read the instructions very carefully and follow the procedures exactly as stated, or you won't get the watch into its initial state. And it really is a bit complicated: you basically end up using all the controls to do different things, need to set the watch next to a window for 12 minutes at a certain point in the sequence (I'm not joking), and then make sure you press the correct buttons in the correct sequence. I must say it took me about 30 minutes of studying the instructions and then about 30 minutes to actually follow all the procedures, a couple of which I had to re-do because I had done them incorrectly. But the ultimate payoff after that is that the watch keeps time by itself from that time on, and all you have to do is ensure it gets some light now and then (the battery is solar-powered, but has a very long cycle to it and can be charged even with indoor light). I wouldn't let the complications at the beginning make you hesitant to purchase it, but just be aware that you need to do the startup procedures at the beginning. A truly beautiful watch, it's one that you will want to try to take care of because you'll want to keep it for a long time. Five stars.

Where is the correct band you advertised.

Loved the watch. Setup took about two minutes. However, this is the second time it was sent without the correct band. I am keeping the second watch but would like to have the correct two tone band sent to me.

Great Seiko watch

This is a great looking watch. Some reviews say it’s really hard to setup the first time, but if you set the proper time zone it will automatically set itself, no problem. My only small complaint is I had an old Seiko Coutura t62 and wore it in the kitchen (still do) for seven or eight years because it has been the best professional kitchen watch I’ve ever owned no leaks, no problems at all but this Coutura says don’t even shower with it on. I was hoping for the same 10 bar waterproofing as my last Coutura but it’s not the case, larger buttons so areas where water could blow through the seals I guess. No problem I just carry both and switch them as my work day goes along. Great value for the money as I got it for about half of the suggested retail price. I will probably stay with Seiko in the future if this one holds up as well as my other one.

Beautiful watch and perfect timekeeping The band is a little large for me so I wear it like a bracelet right now. It needs probably two links removed to be perfect. Love it and would recommend it to everyone. Jimmy.

Very nice whatch, but there are a few things, buyers should know ...

This is a very nice watch, but there are a few things, I'd like to comment on. 1) When I received my watch from Amazon, I noticed, that I was not the first one, to whom it was sent. It did not show any signs of wear or damage, but the box did not contain the labels and certs., that would indicate a new product. Also, the warranty card looked fishy. 2) Setting it up was simple. For the first sync. (daytime) it did not receive the radio signal, I had to use the Clock Sync app. on my iPhone to set the correct time. At night the watch was able to receive the WWVB signal and it sync.ed automatically. 3) The watch does not have a DST setting - DST must be manually set / reset by changing the time zone. This was a little disappointing. I have a 15 yr old radio-controlled CASIO Oceanic, which provides this setting. 4) The length of the wrist band can only be adjusted by removing or adding links. There is no (fine) adjustment in the clasp. That makes it a little difficult to fit it perfectly to the wrist. 5) I noticed that the automatic sync. sets the time only - not the date. The user manual as well as the SEIKO website clearly state, that time AND date should be set. I called Amazon Tech. Service and reported the problem with the date not adjusting during automatic sync.. The Tech. could not help me and recommended to return the watch. That’s what I did. A refund was received within a few days. Since I really liked the watch, I ordered it from another online store for the same price, that was shown on Amazon. I received a new watch, which properly sets time AND date during automatic sync..

Its an ok watch

I have other radio sync watches, where the towers are on the other side of the world and it sync however, Seiko tower is in the US and i cant get a signal. I dont think ill buy another one, good looking watch though.

Great watch, fantastic price. Excellent build quality and looks great if a little busy. Only issue I had was I bought it certified referbished and the glow in the dark paint on the hands barely works. Unfortunately it just doesn't last.

Great Looking Watch

What I like: 1) It's a great looking watch! 2) Easy to set up - the watch did all the work. And with talk of eliminating DST, there won't be any need to ever adjust the watch. 3) Comfortable to wear. 4) Keeps precise time down to the second. 5) With solar charging, there's no need to replace the battery. What I don't like: 1) Very disappointed they couldn't center the 1/5 second hand precisely at the zero position. 2) The stainless steel band is hollow, so the watch is top heavy. I like a good weight to my watches. 3) When the internal battery eventually dies (and it will), it could be an expensive repair. Amended September 2022: The manual has instructions on how to reset the "preliminary position" of the stop watch hands (the watch must have been bumped during shipping to knock the hands out of position).

Great Value

Update: after wearing this watch for a few month, I have to lower my rating for the watch. The watch band is too light for the weight of the watch head, cause an uneven weight distribution, thus it tires out my wrist if I wear it for more than half a day. My submariner is heavier, but the weight distribution is better, so I could wear it for days without discomfort. The watchband needs to be made of better materials! Its the cheapest watch I have. Yet it has been complimented more often for its style and beauty, than watches that I have that cost 10x or 15x more.

Love it, but fit and buttons could be better.

This is a beautiful watch. I love the look and the design. However, like almost all metallic band watches, the fit is hit or miss. It lacks a half-size segment or clasp adjustment that would allow the fit to be fine tuned more comfort. As it stands, I have to wear it a bit higher up than I'd like. Still tolerable though. The only other complaint is that the buttons protrude and can be pressed accidentally very easily. It's not a huge issue as most of the time this might mean just starting the chrono by accident. But having the buttons slightly more recessed would have been nice. Quality is evident, this watch will last a long time.

Excelente pieza deportiva.

Este reloj es grande de tamaño muy propio para hombres que saben lo que quieren, que tienen poder y desean demostrarlo. No cualquiera lo puede pulsar y menos comprar. Vale la pena porque donde quiera que se vaya con él, causará admiración y envidias. Desde luego que NO es un reloj formal ni para eventos de gala, siempre hay un reloj para cada ocasión, este es un reloj deportivo con cronómetro muy adecuado para asistir a las carreras de autos, de lanchas, de personas, para ir a las reuniones del auto club, para llevar a la novia a pasear, al cine, etc. Saludos cordiales.
