Size which the "Dinner" plate was way too small

Lightweight plate with "scooping" edge to make eating easier

I ordered this plate for a friend with Parkinson's Disease. He has some difficulty scooping food from his plate. This plate is well-made, and is extremely lightweight. I do understand the purpose of it being lightweight, as that makes it more useful for children to use, or for people with reduced strength to handle it. The fine pebbling on the eating surface is annoying to me, but it doesn't seem to bother my friend. I was not pleased with the several sharp edges from the unmolding process; these had to be carefully pared off with a sharp knife and then sanded. Fortunately, I was able to do this for my friend; if someone was ordering this for himself, he might not be able to do this safely. The sharp edges were sharp enough to cut skin easily; this is dangerous. I think it would be helpful if the bottom surface of the plate, where it contacts the table, was made of a softer plastic that wouldn't slide so easily, but this could be a manufacturing nightmare, as the eating surface clearly needs to be, and is, hard plastic. Perhaps an optional or always included snap-on "gripper" ring could be considered as an adjunct to this product. This product arrived only 2 days ago, so my friend hasn't used it for very long, but it did make an immediate improvement in his ease of eating. Overall, I am very pleased with this plate, and it definitely helps my friend eat more easily and efficiently. I cannot give it 5 stars, due to the sharp edges it arrived with. My friend is extremely pleased with this plate.

Not good for elderly people

Purchased for my 90 year old father. It was not as deep as I thought it would be.

A good plate for disabled

My husband has an illness and was having problems getting food onto his fork or spoon. The rim on this plate assists with that and keeps items from falling off. It washes up good. It gets some scratches in the plastic from cutting, but that's no biggie. I will probably buy another plate to have another on hand. It is a good size for someone who doesn't eat a lot. Not intended for heaping portions of food.

More independent efficient eating

My mom has Parkinson’s that manifests itself in her dominant hand and arm. Trying to let her be as independent as possible and hanging onto self-help skills, not to mention dignity, I purchased this plate. It’s worth a hundred times the cost. My mom can scoop her food onto her fork because of the brilliant, inward-turned lip. I plan to buy a second one to keep at my house. We’ve used the plate since September 2020, and I just ordered a second one for her.

Very helpful plate for someone that can use both hands

I love this plate I had a stroke 8 months ago I am paralyzed on my right side this plate is very helpful for get food off my plate since I don’t have both my hands that I can use I add rubber pads on the bottom to make the plate stays in place
