Took a little time to install but it was worth the wait!

This stem absolutely needs TWO people to install. Although the finish product looked wonderful, I must admit it wasn't the easiest to put up. I had a drum shade on the end of the stem but you have to have everything put together while you're trying to attach it to the ceiling. So after we ran the wires through the adjustable length stem and slid it through the opening of the drum shade, now we had to attach the entire unit still assembled to the outlet box cover and screw it into the ceiling. In case that sounds easy to some of you, maybe it is...but it wasn't for the Joneses. The drum shade was 23" wide so when my husband was trying to attach it to the ceiling, the shade was getting in his way. It kept rubbing up against his stomache. It's like he had to install it with his butt sticking out so to not bend the shade. Although the stem had a swivel, we could only angle it so much without it being raised too high and brushing up against the ceiling. It wasn't the most difficult thing in the world to install, but it would've been nice if there were a way that we could've installed it first then after it was put up install the shade. Overall, it transformed our dining room and we absolutely love it...

Great lighting.

We have renovated an area in our house to create a playroom. Doing this took down a wall and my husband rerouted the 2 lights that were in the 2 areas and did not want to do more electrical than he needed so I began a search for something that would have multiple lights from one source and be able to handle a lot of wattage to brighten up the space. This pendant had just what we needed: 3 100-watt bulbs. We spent some time trying to figure out if this would work for our space since many pendants drop too far down for the ceilings we happen to have in this space, but there many options for this that should accomadate about any space in a home. There are a few poles of varying lengths that can be screwed to each other to create the right length. We got our lamp shade also with Progress Lighting on Amazon, and love the amount of light that shines through, the size (that lamp shade had 3 sizes of the same thing) and the style. The Progress Lighting had many choices for the shades and was very user friendly on Amazon to see which shades were compatible with which pendants. Prompt shipping and arrived as expected.

Progress Lighting

Progress lighting is the coolest lighting. It's modular. You pick the shade and size and then the light stem lighting of your choice, either 1 or 3 bulb and the finish as well, either bronze or nickel. It was so much fun building my own custom light fixture to exactly what I wanted. The shade is a separate item from the light stem. It was simple to assemble with many different length possibilities. It looks great and has a designer expensive look without the high price tag. It arrived right on time. The shade I purchased was bent. I called customer service and they were so accommodating. The wait on the phone was so fast. They sent me a replacement with free overnight shipping and a shipping paid label to return the damaged shade. They were so friendly and easy to work with. They sent me the replacement before even getting my return. I happily and promptly sent the damaged shade back the next day. The next day as promised I received my new shade in perfect condition. I'm so pleased with the product and even more so with the customer service.

Difficult innovation, but a good light.

[This review is for both the shade and the light itself, ordered separately.] The light's mounting arrangement is very awkward, and in our fairly standard application (replacing an existing pendant light) the screws provided are too short to down to the canopy and protrude to receive the decorative nuts. (All that will make sense when you actually get the thing.) But once you get past that - or if your location is arranged differently (less of a drop from the box to the drywall of your ceiling) - it's an attractive light that works well with a dimmer. I'll add that it's a very delicate light, and it will require great care when cleaning it or replacing bulbs. Given its clean lines and geometry, the slightest tilt will look ridiculous, and the slightest crease in the shade will look awful.

The hanging detail is poor

Hanging this from the ceiling j-box is a snap, if you had 3 arms. The ceiling trim that covers the connections is actually part of the fixture. It's not a removable trim with a set screw. Two screws act as threaded rods hanging down from the base plate that you fix to the j-box. from there, you lift the whole fixture assembly (already wired up somehow...) to align with the holes in the trim to hit those threaded rods and secure it with two acorn nuts. BUT - the nuts will only thread so far, so if those threaded rods are too long, you won't get the fixture snug against the ceiling - so you disconnect the whole assembly and cut the rods just enough, then put it all back and hope you can get those acorns tight enough with just your finger tips. I will add that it ships with several 12" sections (4 I think) and a couple of 6" sections too, so you have flexibility of mounting height. It looks great, but I would really like to see a revised hanging detail.

Looks great!

This light fixture stem (paired with the beige drum shade) look much more expensive than they really are. The multiple stem lengths are really handy to get it to the right height. My only complaint is that it it tricky to get the final nuts to screw tight enough, so it's not as flush to the ceiling as I would prefer. That said, it's a great light fixture and it looks fabulous in my dining room!

when I purchased the lite fixture I was under the impression I was to receive a 25 dolar gift certificate from amazon but I never received any notice I cchecked the gift box but to n avail the lite ccame on time and was very beautiful and just likr the ad and I wouls use yyour service agai but would like tto know about the gift certificate
