Used this to clamp two sections of a yard spinner shaft together. Worked fantastic.

FITMENT - POOR DESCRIPTION

Poor description for fitment. States will fit 1" copper pipe. Measurements are normally for I.D. I debated on whether or not to order this item. I even tried to see if the I.D. was posted somewhere in the questions... nothing. I have no idea what this will fit, but certainly is not for 1" I.D. size pipe (Note: with the length hardware provided.) It is capable of covering a small crack with 1½" bolts (or Carriage bolts. It would leave a ¾" plus opening on each side if done this way. This is definitely to much of an opening when repairing a perpetual stress crack. Plus to repair this way was an added expense of ~$1.40 for 4 each carriage bolts, with "Stop Nuts". 1½", ¼ - 20 bolts selected as SAE Hardware was amost half the price of Metric Hardware. Purchased 1" I.D. "HINGE Clamp from ACE HARDWARE; TWO Bolt; with Carriage bolts 5/16", Flat Washers and Nuts. Metal was heavier gauge. Less than ½" space remaining when nuts were tightened. Blue Locktite (Medium Strength) used to secure nuts. Cost - $9.59 +Tax. I already had the Locktite.

we found a novel application for this item

Our grandson has a jump-up which was too long for some of the the available doorways. This clamp proved to be just the thing to shorten the belt in a safe and reliable manner!

Does not match description

I ordered this product assuming it would be 11.3" long as indicated in the description. What I got was only 3" long, so I returned it unopened.
