Five Star Product -- BUT --

First I will say that I purchased this same satchel before directly from eBags as a gift to my husband and he loved it so much that I was looking to purchase another. I was thrilled when I found it here on Amazon and at a great price too! BUT-- I returned the first one they sent. It was so disgustingly filthy that I was appalled that anyone working for Amazon would even ship it out in that condition. It was so poorly packaged and filthy that I returned it. The satchel was wrapped in plastic and tape --which was all torn and filthy and then this was placed into a filthy outer smashed and torn cardboard box --- which was put into an Amazon box for shipping. I called first to voice my complaint and their representative was wonderful. She insisted I try another and had one sent out immediately. Always a hassle to return, but I sent the first one back. I did keep the second and to be honest, it still arrived in filthy packaging, but at least it was intact enough to prevent the filth from getting to the satchel. Seriously, I had to open this out on the porch and scrub my hands afterwards. I am only deducting one star because the satchel itself is fantastic! The leather is beautiful and it is so well made. We were both amazed at just how much it holds. He loved the fact that there were NOT a lot of pockets and separators ... just open space to place the clothing. Like I said, he loved it and that is why I was looking to purchase another. I loved it, too, and I wanted a pair. This is a Five Star product ... but shame on Amazon for sending it out wrapped in such filth!

Almost 5 Stars... Just Too Big ;-)

Just Too Big As An Intended Computer Bag / Miscellaneous Purse Type Carry On. Beautiful. I Returned It For Piel Leather Large Shopping Bag That I Can Fit My 16.5 Inch MacBook Pro And Still Have Plenty Of Room For Other Stuff. I Also Have A Piel Leather Computer Carry-All Bag In Chocolate, I Gave 5 Stars On That One. Love Piel's Quality And Attention To Detail.

Awesome, However Smaller Than a Duffle Bag

In my mind, the Amazon picture, description, and overall customer rating led me to believe this bag is perfect for the fashionable male on the go. While the bag certainly is, I actually found the bag to be a bit smaller than originally anticipated. Conceptually, I can look past that as it's a high quality bag, which I trust, will last me a lifetime.

Great bag; love it

I wanted a high quality weekend type bag. This one looks great and has served me well on the half dozen or so trips I've taken it on. I do worry about straining the zipper as it is barely large enough for one weekend's worth of stuff if I pack multiple pairs of shoes, but it's a beautiful bag that so far has given me no issues.

While i had to return the first unit shipped, had an issue with stitching, the replacement was absolutely great. No hassle return with Amazon (just had to wait a few days). Beautiful color, great size (fit 4 days worth of clothes including dress shoes). Good carry on size. The leather is supple and the color is rich. This color will get dirty (mine did after a few short flights and storage in the overhead bin) but I believe this adds to its character. It just gets richer with use. The quality of leather and color seemed higher than the cost. Here the dollars are going towards the quality of the leather product as opposed to a flashy logo.

Subtle manufacturing fault

I bought this bag in July, used it on a trip the first time in August and while it mostly seems fine one of the rivets of the handles is faulty and pulls out, making it tough for me to use this product. I tried pushing it back in multiple times, but it keeps coming out.

Nice quality, bigger than expected

Bag is great, but too big for my purposes. Wanted to write a review anyway, just to let others know that the quality of this bag is surprising given its quite reasonable price. It's really big though - I wanted something to double as an overnight bag and as a carry-on for flights that would be big enough to hold a change of clothes, book, iPad, toiletry kit, etc. This bag is actually too big for me to consider it for carrying-on; it would be more appropriate as a weekend (a long one!) bag. Seems to be well-made - zippers and seams seemed solid, and as I said, the quality of the leather was very nice. I'll be returning this and exchanging for the Piel Medium Shopping Bag.

wonderful quality!

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. The quality of leather is shockingly nice for the price, especially! Very thick and holds up well. Make sure you experiment with the measurements before you purchase, as it is much larger than one would imagine. But it's perfect for business trips as it will hold two pairs of wingback shoes, a dopp kit, a travel shoe shining kit, and room to keep pants pressed and button downs neat. It's so nice that now that I know how much he loves it, I plan to get it engraved for him.
