I paid my handyman to do the installation. Looks great!

Didn't realize it was plastic-colored chrome.

The whole thing is plastic. Maybe I didn't read well but I thought it would be chrome, as in the treated metal, and not lightweight chrome-colored plastic. Seems to work well enough for now, but was definitely disappointed.

Didn't last very long as a good pop-up drain stopper

To this drain's credit, it's easier to install than others I've worked with (see description in the listing); but that, at the end of the day, I think was also its failing. After about 2 years, the stopper no longer reliably fully closed (totally sealing water in the sink), or opened. I now just open it and close it by grabbing the stopper itself (at the drain), pushing it down to close and pulling it up to open. Also, the (presumably) rubber seal on the stopper itself has slowly disintegrated somewhat.

Stopper won’t stay down

The stopper does not feature a hole like in other drains, but instead a rubber surface that grabs the rod. The problem is that as soon as there is tension on the top of the drain, like when you close it and the gasket under the stopper meets the sink, the drain stopper slides up in the rod and will not close, creating a seal in the sink. In other words, this design will never actually seal the sink off it works fine when it is open.

Matches my other second sink. So many new products have the huge, dorky looking stoppers. This is old school standard and works great.
