The sides curve in!

The media could not be loaded. The sides curve in so it helps my toddler get stuff on her spoon!! I used a fish cracker to show how easy it is in my video! Other plates might have a slight lip on them, but they don't curve in to help get the food on the spoon! If you have a little that is learning utensils this is a game changer!! The bottom is also weighted. Highly recommend this! It does NOT have suction, but if your kid is going to toss their plate they will figure out a way even if it has suction. I love this. It's easy to clean. I only have one so, I just hand wash it after each use and have not had an issue with staining or holding on to scents. We even have cut food up on it and it hasn't shown signs of wear and tear yet.

The OXO Tot Silicone Plate Changed My Life!

The OXO Tot Silicone Plate Pink (and in so many other delicious colors, Kandinsky would have been lucky to have such a palette). First of all, this is being marketed as a plate to be used for your toddler. It is “tantrum resistant” it is dishwasher safe, it has absolutely no lead paint, and it is bisphenol A free. All good things, but its utility really shines when used as a food bowl for your cat(s). Its inward curved walls are perfect to prevent the inevitable migration of cat food onto your floor. It has a weighted base, preventing it from easily being tipped by your cat’s penchant for knocking over and flipping bowls, especially if they contain water, or if you have caused dissatisfaction due to your failure to recognize the urgency with which food is desired as the bowl is essentially empty, “I mean there is NO FOOD IN THE CENTER OF THE BOWL KAREN! That’s not my name Percy. OH WHATEVER, I DO FIND THE OXO SILICONE PLATE PLEASING, FILL IT! Ok Percy…” In all seriousness, this product will get much more use as a food bowl for our cats than it would ever get as a plate for a child. What 15 year-old wants their food presented to them on the floor in a silicone bowl designed so that it can’t be broken into shards, is easily grabbed by tiny hands and is difficult/nigh impossible to tip? Well I imagine there are some human teenagers and adults like that, I don’t judge…. but really, this product has far more utility as a cat food bowl. My 21 year-old cat can’t get enough of its pleasing symmetry. Especially when it has her favorite food in it. She will accept nothing else, and she f***ing deserves it. I wasn’t going to go there, but this product really has changed my life. Before, I would struggle to remove dried bits of paté off the bottom of stainless steel and porcelain food bowls before sending them through the dishwasher, as there is no dishwasher truly up to the task of removing such offerings from the bottom of your pet food bowls. Say goodbye to the frustration of scrubbing and scraping at your food bowls. The OXO Tot Silicone Plate is NON-STICK! This product will save HOURS of your life you will never every get back, spent scraping away at dried cat food, wondering to yourself “Is the secret sauce really actually cement??!?!?? “Nope, the silicone texture is nearly self-cleaning. Take that cat food cement! And it is dishwasher safe! I’m getting a little faint just thinking of the spare time I now have. Now I can spend that time searching amazon for viable toilet paper options during the pandemic, secure in the knowledge that my cats are eating off of plates deemed safe enough by crazy people who go through the trouble of having human children. Ha! Silly people. Buy this product for your cats, KAREN!

THE DESIGN AND THE EDGES PREVENT FOOD FROM GOING OVER THE EDGES! EXCELLENT! IT CAN BE MICROWAVED BUT BEST TO USE A BOWL TO MIX THE FOOD AND NUKE IT! MY RESCUED AUSSIE YORKIE HAS NO TEETH AND WENT THRU ALOT TO SURVIVE SHELTER SAVED HIM! SHELTER HAD TO EXTRACT ALL HIS TEETH AND AS YOU CAN IMAGINE MAKES DIFFICULTY SCOOPING UP HIS FOOD WAS A BIG PROBLEM AND UNCOMFORTABLE TO KEEP TRYING AND NEVER REALLY ATE MUCH MORE DUE TO THAT! Favorite plate for baby!

I love that this product can be put in the microwave and dishwasher! My baby can’t spill her food out of it because it’s weighted and stays on the tray!

Works as Adpative Eating Aids.

I have neurological issues and the plate, bowl, and spoons have been a Godsend. I know these were intended for small children and they weren't designed for adults as adaptive eating aids, but I have found them to be useful for this purpose, at least for the time being. The plate and bowl are weighted which is nice. The sides are also nice and high so that helps as well and they slightly curve inwards so if you bump the edge it's harder to flip the bowl or plate, which I really like. They are also non-skid (at least on my table) which is very helpful. The spoons have nice, big handles so I have an easier time holding on to them. They also are designed to sit upright and they will remain upright when propped on the edge of the bowl or plate. Not only do they clean up easily but they look nice as well. Typically adaptive eating utensils look so clinical and sterile and they cost a fortune! These have style, they aren't as expensive and so far they are working out pretty well for me. Thank you OXO! I have had these since August 2020 and I use them everyday, for every meal. So far all that has happened is that the silicone has softened a bit, which is fine. When I got them they were very stiff, but now they are a bit more flexible, which is fine, it doesn't effect their usefulness in the least. One other thing, the spoon is shaped so it perfectly conforms to the plate and bowl sides, which makes scooping thick soup or whatever off the sides super easy. If I could change anything or improve anything I would include lids with them, other than that they have been amazing and I would buy them again in a heartbeat!
