Great Sprinkler control

This Orbit controller is technically sophisticated, yet easy to operate, not to mention easy to install. However you do need to read the instructions as this baby is very different from other controllers. It must reset if you can't get the setup correct the first time and it is outlined in the instructions exactly how to reset it. The controller is heavy duty and more rugged than the other Obits or Hunters I have owned. I love being able to start or stop the watering anywhere I want, sitting in my lazy chair , driving or at my favorite restaurant! Or when too many deer get in the yard I just turn the sprinklers on and chase em away!!

Helpful for remote operation

I replaced my old Hunter controller with this one to be able to control the device remotely. Installation has been easy, although I had to drill new holes in the masonry wall outdoors. Too bad manufacturers don’t have a common installation standard and existing screws cannot be reused. Setting the smart operation has been piece of cake. I did not try a traditional configuration and I think it will be quite overwhelming due to a lot of parameters. Unfortunately the device does not come with detailed user manual and I could not find it online. Few additional instructions on manual operation are posted inside the magnetic lid covering the wire compartment but they could have been also included in a full manual. Few other features are not described in the quick guide. For example, I would like to know what the 24V output plugs can be used for. Same question is about pump plugs. Or, if an external rain sensor is connected, how the device is using it to schedule watering, especially when combined with weather forecast obtained via Wi-Fi. Also, it is not clear why a jumper wire is provided separately, when another jumper is already installed inside the device for the rain sensor. The box includes two screws and anchors for wall mounting, but the quick guide shows three mounting holes - one on top and two in the bottom of the device. It also says that three screws are included, not just two. I used both, one on top and one in the bottom, hope it will be OK. On a positive side, I think lack of nobs and buttons except one on the panel is a good thing. My older Hunter had many and I think they got worn down from exposure to the sun and heat. Plus the new device is more waterproof with just one moisture protected button on the front panel. You cannot do complex programming with it but it adds a level of security and you don’t need a lock to protect the settings. Overall it looks like a good controller, but only time will tell how durable it is.

Easy to Install and Easy to Set up

I used this to replace a rain bird controller that my builder installed. The Rainbird's smart feature never worked and would water when it is raining, snowing, and whenever it wanted. The installation of the Orbit was easy and all I did was move the wires from the Rainbird to the Orbit without any issues. The orbit wire clamps are great you just push them in and they are clamped in place. The smart feature was easy to set up via the app and the Zones was easy to label. I did have to walk around my house and test each zone so I could tell the app how many sprinkler heads were in each zone. I have already had one day that the watering did not happen due to the fact it was going to rain that day and that made me very happy. Overall I would buy this again if I move.

EASY installation, solid application

I purchased two of these to replace front/back lawn controllers. Both were remarkably easy to install/set up with one small caveat. This system is not compatible with Google Pixel6 phone as an initial setup. Borrowing a friend's Samsung, putting it on my wifi system, it was instantly discovered by the app, and instantly set up. Once it was set up, my Pixel 6 reads it and runs it via the app as expected. It would be helpful if Orbit created a booklet or online brief explaining all the parts and features. For example, it's not immediately noticeable that the lights on the front of the unit can be turned off in the app. In my case, the unit is visible from the street, and the last thing we wanted was to be flashing lights from the house towards the street. In the app, the front-facing led lights can be disabled/turned off. We appreciate the Zone displays; each zone can store a photograph of the relevant zone, making it simple to see which zones are which. Two complaints (both minor) is that the power plug/cable can't be easily removed, yet in my case, both systems require putting the cable through a wall for interior plug with exterior control. Second, the wire terminals feel very, very cheap, and removing the back confirms that there is no support/no plastic nor metal backing these up. A hard push and an entire section could easily break off. It would be nice if there were more than one mounting screw housing. I ended up using the top mount housing, plus drilling two additional holes INSIDE the Bhyve unit. So long as these work as expected, we're very happy

Great app!

This is my 3rd wifi Orbit controller to install. Love the app. All working well so far. I don't use smart watering. I just watch the weather and decide to leave program running or pause it. The smart watering may work well for some people, don't know. I prefer this product. I needed 16 zone capability. and for the money, this was a great value!

Intuitive, easy to use, wifi issue

Replaced a 18 year old controller, this was a big improvement, easy to use and app is intuitive. Only issue it would not hook up to wifi. My phone says full signal and I have wifi cameras twice as far away, and no one complians when they bring a laptop and connect. Been running on Bluetooth till I tackle the wifi issue.

Prodotto per il mercato USA non compatibile con gli standard elettrici europei.

Suppongo che sarebbe da 5 stelle se si potesse utilizzare in Italia, ma purtroppo essendo un modello costruito per il mercato USA, funziona esclusivamente a 110v e 60Hz. Non essendo disponibili trasformatori a buon mercato per la conversione di entrambi i valori, è stato necessario effettuare il reso.

Excellent Product

Dry easy to set up. Instruction easily understood. Have only used manual feature so far, but expect other settings will be easy to use as well
