Great for a smaller tank! (20-55 gal) However…

Great little pump! Gets the job done for about 6-8 months then craps out. I’ve looked at other reviews on here stating the same thing has happened. However, Current USA’s customer service is top notch and they honor the 1 year warranty of the pumps. Great company and great product for the price!

Great and not so great

This product works amazing. I love the way you can control the different ways it creates waves. The only problem is with the pumps themselves. I don’t know why but they tend to die out after seven or eight months.

660 GPH is small, packs a great punch

I purchased the 660 GPH kit for my 29 gallon planted community tank. I was pleasantly surprised by how tiny the pump is. It is small, about the size of a tennis ball, maybe a bit smaller. It fits great in a 29 gallon tank, barely takes up any space and is hardly visible. Although it is small, it can really move water. I get movement throughout the tank at about 50% flow rate. Even at 100%, the flow is dispersed (or diffused, whichever is correct) enough that it doesn't bother the fish or cause my plants to come loose. It's pretty quiet as well. At 100% flow I can hear it, but only if I'm right next to the tank and there's no other noise in the room. Even then, it is silent...I'd liken it to the sound of a phone vibrating in a pocket of a person standing next to me. Super easy to install, the magnet is pretty strong and allows for simple placement. The controller and hub are plug and play, and can be mounted using either the screws or velcro (all provided in the box). The flow control and sequence settings provide a ton of options, making this pump extremely versatile. It is simple to change the settings as well, and the lights on the control box make it super easy to see what frequency and flow rate it is running. Only one downside, and it really is not a deal breaker. I've found the remote for my Current LED +pro light will change the settings on the pump, as both operate using IR. Not a huge problem, as I generally keep my lights set on auto anyway. Honestly, for the simplicity and versatility of this kit I would expect to pay far more than $65. This really is a fantastic pump, and it's a great deal. 10/10 would recommend!

Good but hard to justify price.

This wave maker is hands down the nicest one I’ve ever owned it has a couple different modes like pulsing the water and making waves but they all do almost the same thing and in my opinion it doesn’t put out the amount of water flow that I would expect from a wave maker of this price tag. I could’ve bought 4 wavemakers for 6 dollars each and make a giant wave maker for a quarter of the price of this one and all I would have to do is find a controller or timer to run the other wave makers on. But then again this wavemaker is fully adjustable for speed, flow, and many other options. And from my brief ownership it has been very reliable and most importantly is completely silent.

Can’t go wrong with Current USA pump

Absolutely awesome! Easy to set up. The only problem I had was the battery in the remote was dead upon arrival. Thankfully there was a spare in the box the pump was sent in. Easy to get a wave motion going in the aquarium. I am in the process of setting up a 2nd reef tank and this goes perfect. I just bought a Current USA LED light as well and it is flawless. I am think about replacing my light and pump in my other reef tank with Current USA systems. As a follow-up: I have had it for 6 months now. I moved it to my larger tank and makes a nice rolling wave in there. I had a Ecotech Marine Vortech MP10w in there and I think the Current USA does a better job for a lot less money. If you are wondering, I have been using Vortech wave pumps for about 7 years now. I need to get another Current USA 6000 for my smaller tank now.

Didnt last long

Lasted 5 months and stopped working. Okay while it lasted. Wasnt that strong..

Not a "fan"

Well I got this to replace a oversize gyre that was, at the time, everything I could ask for in the price point. I saw this and "USA" and thought it would be a more discrete way to create water flow in the tank. While the pump part works and the size /footprint in the tank(75g) was smaller.... The pump LED display was DOA out of the box. Yes i made the right connections. No I didn't try to hook it up to a car battery to "Give it more power". I read the directions, set it up, plugged it in, and DOA... So i am guessing the flow and speed at this point and will contact the company about the issue. I removed one star for the DOA item from a brand new 135$ pump. I then removed a second star to send the point home. I gave it a star for the compactness, a second star for the fast shipping, and a third star for moving water without further death.

Missing parts

Received mine in the mail today was missing both the hub and the remote which makes this so called kit useless when it states that it comes with both the box it came in had no room for a hub or remote to fit so I’m guessing that will need to be a separate purchase I asked for a replacement to see if it does come with one on round 2 will update in a few days.
