Alright, I've had this thing for a year. Time to review
So my instant pot broke a year ago. When I was searching through Amazon for a replacement, I saw this thing and thought "hey, I dont have an air fryer. this does both. Cool!" and ordered it. Keep in mind, at the time, I had absolutely ZERO idea what air fryers really were...or what they were good for. It was on sale, I had a gift card, needed an instant pot, so that's why I got it. Now I've had it for a year, so here's my experience. 1) It works. Yep, does everything it says it will do. Saves counter space. 10/10. I'm absolutely amazed at how often I use the damned thing....and for the most part, it's the air fryer I use. Absolutely 100% did not expect that when I ordered it. 2) It's SUPER easy to clean. Generally speaking just rinse it out & lightly scrub it with a sponge & dish soap...good to go. If you forget about it and open it up to a surprise a week later? No problem. Soak it for an hour in hot water then throw it in the dishwasher, all good. Now I have absolutely no basis for comparison because this is the only air fryer I've ever used, so I have no idea how well the traditional ones work....but it does a good job as far as I can tell. Chicken wings turn out crispy, does a great job at reheating things, etc. Completely satisfied. 3) Build Quality. So for reference Ive had it for a year, and use it REGULARLY. 3 or 4 times a week w/ main dishes, reheating, cooking sides, etc...both air frying and pressure cooking. Fried wings, bone broth, the works. This thing gets a workout. Knock on wood, but it's showing zero signs of wear. None. I'm not the kindest of users, either. It's solid. 10 of 10. Now for some cons (which are pretty nitpicky to be honest): 1) The pressure cooker. Having a second lid to store is annoying. It's not really a design flaw (though I think InstantPot makes one that does the same thing, but you dont have to use a separate unattached lid for pressure cooking), but just annoying to have to keep it somewhere. 2) Again, pressure cooker. The lid, for me anyway, doesnt hands-off automatically seal. If I just leave it to it's own devices it'll get to a certain pressure point and just hiss...have to let it pressure up and then press down on the lid for it to seal properly. I'm not sure if it's user error, a defect, or a design flaw...but that's what mine does. Just a slight nuisance though, no big deal as long as you dont forget to check it 5 or 6 minutes after you close the lid and start the pressure. Works great once that initial seal happens. 3) Size. This one is both good and bad. The device is small. Honestly for my wife and I, the size is perfect to cook pretty much anything we want in a proper portion size for two. But if we are cooking for more than two, it's just not big enough some of the time. Wish I'd bought the larger model. If you are only ever going to cook for one or two people? This is your huckleberry. If you cook for more than 2 regularly, it isnt. Get the larger model. I'm quite satisfied with this purchase. Really my only regret is I didnt get the next size up. Of course now I'm shopping for a stand alone air fryer, mostly because Ive found I frequently could use more than one of them at once.

Easy to clean, multiple functions, easy to use, I use it almost daily.
I have had a number of electric pressure cook brands over the years, and the Ninja Foodi pressure cookers with the air crisp lid is my favorite. First of all, to me, it doesn't make sense to buy a 6 quart pressure cooker since the quantity you cook is limited to the capacity of the cook. With an 8 quart pressure cooker, you can as easily cook smaller quantities as larger ones. I always opt for the larger size since cookers I have had in smaller sizes were never used. I also have had the Ninja OP301 pressure cooker with the air crisp lid for over two years. I use it almost every day and it still works and looks like new. I like it so much, when I saw the Ninja FD401 unit on sale during the Amazon Prime days, I jumped on it. I wanted an extra in case the one I have fails. From experience, I have learned this usually happens in the middle of making dinner. I have looked into the differences between the two units, and I'm not sure whether I prefer the OP301 unit to the DP401 unit. The OP301 is describes as a 9-in-one and the FD401 is described as a 12-in-1. The OP301 actually has 7 cooking functions to choose from and the FD401 has 8 functions to choose from. Some functions are combined to come up to the 9-in-1 for the OP301 and 12-in-1 for the FD401. The following is the differences between the two units. - Cooking functions - The FD401 added Yogurt to the Slow Cook function. OP301 - Pressure, Steam, Slow Cook, Sear/Sauté, Air Crisp, Bake/Roast, Broil, Dehydrate FD401 - Pressure, Steam, Slow Cook/Yogurt, Sear/Sauté, Air Crisp, Bake/Roast, Broil, Dehydrate - Cooking function selection - The FD401 uses the Start/Stop knob to scroll through the functions for selection and to increase or decrease time and temperature. The OP301 has buttons that can be pressed for each function. Personally, I prefer the selection buttons on the OP301 to the dial used for selection on the FD401. - Time and Temperature - On both units there are default settings for both, but time and temperature can be easily changed on both by pressing the up/down buttons on the OP301 or using the dial on the FD401. - Accessories - Both come with the same accessories: reversible rack, cook/crisp basket, etc. I use my Ninja Foodi almost every day, and bought a couple accessories to increase the uses . Since I grow a number of veggie greens in my basement, I bought a steamer basket from Amazon for an 8 quart pressure cooker that I use to steam the veggies. The thicker leaves require 8-10 minutes of steaming, and the thinner leaves, like spinach, require only 2-3 minutes of steaming. I also bought the Ninja Foodi Skewer set that works wonderfully for cooking and browning BBQ'ed chicken wings, chicken thighs, and brochettes using chicken, fish, shrimp, or beef. The air crisping lid is used for the chicken wings and thighs after cooking them with the baking function. As a pressure cooker, this Ninja Foodi saves so much time, and the results are always wonderful. For example, a pork shoulder roast needs to be pressure cooked for only 55 minutes, and the liquids left make a wonderful gravy. To do this, put 2 cups of beef broth in the bottom of the cooking pot, add 1 large onion cut into wedges, 5-6 garlic cloves (or to taste), and seasonings. After the pork shoulder is done, remove it and cover with tin foil to keep warm. Set the cooker to sauté low, use in immersion blender to blend the onion and garlic, add a mixture of 1/4 cup water and 2 tbsp. corn starch, and cook until the gravy thickens. Using the pressure cooking function, I have also made pot roast with potatoes and carrots, corned beef and cabbage, short ribs, beef stew, and more. All have come out perfect, and all were done in 1 hour or less. In conclusion, both units supply basically the same cooking functions, and both are excellent cooking appliances with multiple cooking functions that will enhance the cooking abilities of anyone using them. Personally, I prefer the button selection of the OP302 over the FD401 unit simply because pushing a button for the desired function is much easier and faster than scrolling to the desired function with a dial. As for storage of the Air Crisp lid, there is an option available on Amazon to store this lid on top of the pressure cooker. I have this, and now store my Air Crisp lid on top of the pressure cooker. Another important point to mention is that many of the newer appliances use wattages from 1500 to 1800 watts. This unit is rated at 1760 units. We have a 40 year old home and most of the circuit breakers were 15 amps. This could handle 1 appliance if nothing else was running at the time of the appliance. I was having a problem with circuit breakers popping when using two appliances at the same time and sometimes when I was using only one. This made cooking dinners very frustrating as the cook times were lost when the breaker popped. We finally had an electrician come to the house to upgrade our circuit breakers to 20 amp and many of the outlets in my kitchen were wired to separate circuit breakers. This made dinner cooking a lot easier for me, but it came at a cost of over $3000. If you have only a couple of the newer appliances, including this one, you may have a problem if you have 15 amp circuits and anything else is running on the same circuit at the same time. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update my review if my opinion changes or I can add more information.

3 years update
Purchased January 2020 Review March 2023 Pros: simple controls, everything functions as is meant, easy cleanup, larger capacity, perfect for those days i forgot to defrost anything for dinner. Cons: it's BIG!, takes long time to pressurize, pressure lid does not seal without assistance since second use. ZERO buyers remorse, would absolutely recommend & even purchased several extras as gifts. Mostly easy cleanup, exception being cook&crisp basket needs scrub fairly immediately after use or it takes a little elbow grease. Plug on pressure lid doesn't seat itself since second use, we've taken to holding the plug with needlenose plyers. That's really nothing more than mild annoyance than anything though. Tldr: i have this curse for ending up with all the lemons, as such i tend to go through gadgets like mad. Mobile devices rarely survive their first half year. A recent gaming controlpad purchase didn't survive 3 months. 3d scanner exhibited problems right from the box that the manufacturer couldn't explain. I've even managed to kill a toyota tacoma! It's carcass is wasting away in my driveway. Seriously, who else can blow up a 1gr-fe? Even Clarkson failed! I digress. After 3 years my the only bad thing i can say about this gadget is about that above-mentioned pressure lid. Given my track record, that's beyond spectacular.

Great for small apartments!
I used to have two 8 qt Ninja Foodi's but recently got divorced and left them with him. Since we have a very small apartment I bought the 5 qt and it's perfect for the two of us and fits nicely in our small space. I am in love with everything Ninja Foodi!

It works great!
This is a great product to buy. It can cook so many different types of dishes. Air fry fries same as if you would deep fry. Very crunchy and healthy. The only thing I don’t like was the scent. From the time I first used it until now the odour hasn’t subsided. It maybe the type of material used to build it.

Better than an Actifry by far.
We bought this to replace an Actifry because we broke our second Actifry and third Actifry mixer. I confess that we always put more fries into the Actifry than recommend due to the small amount it would make. We found that the Ninja air fryer made much better fries and chicken wings than the Actifry and didn't beat the food into bits. It cooked the fries much better too. Definitely could cook a lot of fries and make them nice and crisp. You do have to mix them up 3 or 4 times to cook them evenly. Clean up was also much easier than the Actifry. Cooked a whole chicken using the air fry method and it was the best I have ever made. Cooked a roast using the same method and it was amazing. Tried using the pressure cooker/air fryer method and was not impressed with how the chicken turned out. I need to figure out if I am doing something wrong here. The pressure cooker does work well as far as I know. The machine is not loud like the Actifry. The machine seems to be very well made and the controls are simple to use. Very glad I purchased it. Did I mention how easy it is to clean? After cooking a roast I only had to rinse it out and gently wipe it with a cloth. One last thing, although the machine fills the kitchen with the normal smells of cooking, it does not smoke like some other air fryers.

Useful cooking pot.
The pot is easy to Wash clean. The air fryer function works very well. The pressure cook works very well. The only issue for me is: the size is too big for a single person.

This is a multi use appliance.
Very pleased with cooking results using this item. Very user friendly, even for an old fart like me. Temperature settings are very accurate and easy to control. Cleaning around the outer rim at top of removable pot is a bit of a challenge, but after a few times, with a bit of creativity, it only takes one minute. The way of the design is near impossible to ever have to clean inside. BUT !!! , the air crisp lid is more of a challenge. I will separate the frame to make it easier when necessary to clean. I’m guessing after 6 months of use. Pressure cooker feature works great. Overall, I am pleased with this product.
