Loads of fun.

This was a gift for a five yr old. The parents report back that all their sons love it. The recipient liked decorating it with the included stickers. It will launch several times on one charge and it goes reasonably high. So far they have not lost it. Do not use it if it is windy. You will never see it again if you do! This is the second National Geo toy I have gifted and both of them were high-quality fun toys.

It really does go high!

Got this for my 10 year old and it really does go high even on the first setting. It got stuck on 2 roofs in our subdivision and a car. We decided it cannot be used until we are at a park or an open field.

I got it for my nephew. Thought it would be funny for my brother to have to chase after it LOL. My nephew really loved it and it gets some major air time from what I was told!

Fun STEM toy

Our 7 YO boy really likes this one. It's easily our favorite Christmas gift of his this year too. It launches and flies on its own (with a propeller), in a spinning flight. When it gets as high as it's going, up to 200 feet (which looks right based on our experience), the rocket body (styrofoam) flips out and it comes down softly, like a helicopter. It's easy to catch and fun to watch for the whole family. The Nat Geo Power Rocket is lots more fun and much better than Stomp Rockets. It take about 30 mins to charge, but flies about the same amount of time. The only cons, preventing a 5 star review are: the stickers don't like to stay on the styrofoam body panels, and those panels can be difficult to keep notched in place for launch. Sometimes they also come out of the notches during flight too, which causes the rocket to spin out of control and crash. Overall though, it's a really good toy and highly recommended.

Not simple to operate

This is a cool rocket and my kids love to play with it. I will say it takes some patience to position the three wings to prepare it for launch. Once you get the hang of it and have a good place to launch it it is fun to watch it fly. It goes pretty high. Not bad for the price.

So fun but drifted 50 yards to a rooftop

Hello, I purchased a motorized Power Rocket for my son's 8th birthday. It is such a cool toy! The coolest one I've seen in years. We launched it 2 times. On the 3rd time, it drifted 50 yards to the top of the school roof (we were in a huge school grass area). I had no idea even a little wind could carry it 50 yards sideways. I'm writing by chance to see if we can get another one? We had so much fun on those 2 launches and it was so sad to see it drift away. Thank you! Shannon (mom)

Great rocket for older children

Bought the rocket as a birthday gift for our 9 year old grandson (also knowing his 12 year old brother would enjoy it too.) The rocket deserves 5 stars for it's engineering, performance and "fun" level, but since it has to be light weight to fly, it is very fragile. It does fly very high and then opens to rotate "copter" style downward to land (but catching it can easily damage it). Being light weight - it is effected by the slightest breeze (any wind is even worse) and it must be flown in open spaces - far awary form obstructions (trees, houses). It is difficult to reassemble to fly again. It was hard for our boys to reassemble without help and took care and patience. The boys flew it on the second day by themselves and it was blown way over several roof tops, and after a thorough search - was never seen again. Lessons learned.

Fun Gift

I would have given this rocket a 5 star review except for the first arrived broken. However it was immediately replaced and I received it by Christmas! My grandson put it together and he loved the way it took off! So yes it’s a great gift for kids!!

Not worth the cost

Bought this as a gift for my 9 yr old, we weren't able to fly as the ring base broke out of the box, i tried to epoxy it back together but another spot cracked as well. For the price I paid, I am not satisfied with the quality.
