A great and inexpensive shower head

Variations of this type of shower head are used in several mid priced hotel chains which is where I first encountered them. With 2.5 gallons/minute of flow, these produce a nice and broad stream, unlike many shower heads out there. I personally hate those multifunction shower heads that have several settings including a pulsed "massage." Who needs that crap? I don't go into the shower for a massage, I go in to get clean, and this shower head has none of the nonsense but all of the substance. Because they have no moving parts they do not break, either. And they look good, too. Who could ask for more? ********Addendum 2-15-2017:******* I have again purchased this item a few days ago and installed and used it yesterday. What was once a quality product made of metal is now basically a big piece of chrome colored or plated plastic. On the plus side, the flow restricter, now green in color, is fairly easily removed with a small needle nose or similar pliars. The function continues to be good. If you don't look at it too closely you won't notice a lot of difference other than increased shininess and the fact that the face where the water comes out is now chromed and not earth toned. On the negative side, it seems rather expensive to pay almost $50 for what is in fact a cheap piece of plastic. Once you get it installed you will probably not touch it very much since it does not have adjustments for flow and stream pattern, and no massage type functions. So, if you don't mind paying ~$50 for a piece of blown plastic, then you probably won't care. Be sure you are OK with this before ordering.

I first encountered one of these at the Inn of the Anasazi (a Santa Fe luxury hotel). I had to get one. If you like strong needle jets of water, this is not it. It's broader and gentler -- closer to a "rain" shower head -- but probably strong enough for most people. Because it tilts only a little, the hotel used it in conjunction with a 10" adjustable shower arm (made by Delta, also available here on Amazon), so I bought that, too. $19. It's an extension from your shower's water pipe. It allows the shower head to be pointed in absolutely any direction, and can also be raised or lowered to your preferred height. I set the arm high so the shower head points mostly down, from above my head. Find your favorite position for it, twist the knobs snug, and you're set. A couple wraps of white Teflon plumber's tape around the pipe threads usually makes for a drip-free connection. Delta's adjustable shower arm actually came with some. Or you can buy it for a couple bucks here on Amazon or at any hardware store.

Works well, stands the test of time

I bought two of these in 2014 to use in our showers at home. They've been used almost daily since then and they still work great. They still look new. One thing that I particularly love about this shower head is that it doesn't feel like a low-flow shower head. I have thick hair and the bathroom is cold in the winter, with a lot of low-flow shower heads I'm just cold in the shower. That's not a problem with this shower head, it does a good job of distributing the water, we have hard water but so far none of the little spray holes has gotten clogged. It's an all around solid shower head. Highly recommended.

Strong shower--if you remove the flow restrictor

With the flow restrictor in place: not a very satisfying shower. With the flow restrictor removed: very satisfying shower.

Great single shot shower head

If you want a single spray head without having to adjust different positions that sometimes work and sometimes not like you expect then this is the perfect head

The porridge is too hot or too cold

I felt like Goldilocks taking a shower in the home of the Three Bears, where only Mama Bear and Papa Bear actually take showers. Baby Bear must take baths instead. With the flow restrictor in place, there wasn't enough pressure for my wife to effectively rinse the shampoo from her hair. With the green plastic flow restrictor removed, the water volume gushing through the shower head was so great we were almost using up all the hot water in one shower. I tried to find a middle ground by leaving the flow restrictor in place but removing the black rubber O-ring, but that was the same as having no flow restrictor at all. If we could have somehow gotten a Baby Bear "just right" flow rate through this shower head I would have loved it, but we ended up replacing it with a different shower head instead (Hydroluxe Full-Chrome 24 Function Ultra-Luxury 3-way 2 in 1 Shower-Head /Handheld-Shower Combo ).

Great showerhead - try it with the restrictor in place before removing it!!

Picked this up on Saturday. Mine came with a flow-restrictor device pre-installed. Me, being me, I decided to remove it before installing it. MISTAKE. The pressure that came out of this head was so intense that my wife said it felt like her skin was being stripped off. Fortunately, I still had the restrictor and was able to re-install it. I am totally aware of showerheads that the restriction devices can make them all but worth it. This is not one of them. I'm also not saying to not remove the device - if you want to remove it, by all means, remove it. BUT - try it first with the restrictor installed. It may surprise you how strong the flow is, even with the restriction in place.
