Long handle keeps you out of danger

With its nicely twisted steel handle and heavy duty shovel head, It shovels ash and keeps our box clean. As intended!

Seems well made

Construction seems solid. It's attractive and matches my existing toolset well enough. My last one broke at the weld between shovel and handle. This one makes me more optimistic.

Can't imagine a bad one but this one scoops with the best of them. What else can I say it's good.

Not riveted.

I bought a set two years ago. Recently the shovel separated at the spot weld at the handle. I reviewed the same seller again and noticed in the photo the shovel was now riveted. When I recieved the shovel it was the same old spot weld. Also I believe the metal is steel. First use the black paint burned off. When used moving hot coals the metal softens and bends eventually failing at the spot weld. I got two years of fairly heavy use in an fireplace insert but not worth the money and definitely misrepresented. Made in India.

ABSOLUTE JUNK!!!

This is one of those items you wish you could give zero stars to! It is a garbage, indian made piece of trash. First, it does not match the photo, it has a weak spot weld and not 3 rivets. Second, the shovel head is shallow, narrow, and just low gauge pot metal. Third, when you stick it in the stove, the paint smolders horribly, no fire, just half burned coals was all it took. It smoked so bad, I had to run to the faucet and pur water on it to stop. It filled my home with noxious fumes and gave me a headache right now! Which means whatever it is coated with attacks he central nervous system. Coming from india, god only knows what is in the paint, possibly lead as well. I threw it back in the box and returned within 1 hour or receipt. I then fired up my word doc and added this company to my list of those I will never buy from again. The fact that this gets anything but 1 star from anyone tells me some people are totally content with cheap, overseas, garbage goods. That's all, anymore of my time spent typing implies this piece of trash it actually worth talking about!
