An adorable kit with a really nice painting suggestion book!

The kit was cute and the paints were great --- colors were beautiful, especially the sparkly ones- the suggested color mixes worked too and were surprisingly nice--- but WOW the idea book was really fantastic- what clever easy ideas that make one's painted rock look like it was professionally done - learned some neat techniques. Almost worth it for the book itself (written by an artist)- though you would need the paint to do the designs- so glad it came in one kit. And rocks that were a good size (some more perfectly smooth I think they tried to get the best ones they could in the kit). They seem to be missing the color red but I think it was only used in one design and if you have other acrylic paint you could use I guess -so many other ideas did not really need the red though for the rest. Note - after you get done painting one side of a rock and it dries - we realized we could paint the other side - even with a totally different look! Twice the fun!

Doesn’t age well

Finally got around to using this, all the paints are a varied level of dried out. From completely dried, to extra thick. I wouldn’t recommend this as a gift because it doesn’t age well. The supplied brush is a little better than a dollar store brush, but it does the job. If you are buying for yourself to use immediately, I’m sure this is good.

Great Rock Painting Kit!

This is an awesome rock painting kit. I ordered one just to make sure that it was good. It was better than expected! I plan on doing a virtual rock painting time with my grandkids and wanted something that the older grandkids and moms could have fun with too. This book is one of the best that I have found...and I have bought a lot for our virtual rock painting date! Ordered one for each family.

Missing pieces

The paint brush was not included as promised. Incomplete kit that had been apparently returned and taped shut, and resold again.

Fun craft ideas!

Great kit to get started right away. I thought the instruction book had some fun ideas and instructions were easy to understand/follow. Also I needed customer service and found them prompt and caring. I would feel good ordering from Book Outlet through Amazon again.

Not worth it!

This set is semi-ok, however, one of the rocks were broken so that left me with 3 rocks, but they are small and can barely do anything. The brush is too large, but it can be trimmed to make a detailed brush. I have not opened the paints, yet, so I can't say how they are. The only nice thing is the booklet. The booklet is nice as it has some very nice instructions, step by step, pictured instructions, but this is not worth the price you pay. A person can go to their local landscaping supply store /location, and purchase much bigger rocks, that are not broken, pay about 17 cents to 60 cents a pound on large rocks, or go to their local craft shop and pay maybe $12 for a small bag of rocks that aren't broke or porous plus paints and gems, go to the dollar store for a small paint brush, and go home trim the brush, wash the rocks and check on the internet to make these. It's definitely not worth the $18+ for this set. The rocks have some sort of odd for to them and a dusty film, it's best to wash these rocks, if you purchase for the booklet, and head to your local craft store to get the rest of the supplies required. But seriously I don't recommend this set, unless you want the book.

Gave me new ideas for rock painting

The booklet that comes with the kit gave me an entire new approach with the dot method using provided metallic paints. I love the results. (Supplier could please send better rocks with the kit.)

Metallic rock painting kit.

The book is VERY thin, the kit does not need rocks in the package ( they are free on beaches and the forest !). So I bit disappointing, I thought that the book would be a book: not a pamphlet !

Great book, terrible quality paints. Best to buy it just for the book and buy your own paint.
