Easy compromise for people who want a dollhouse to decorate

I have always wanted a dollhouse, HOWEVER, had no desire to deal with assembling. I am more interested in interior decoration than construction. This was a great first step, pretty easy to assemble by myself and easy to flip into the desired house with a bit of dollhouse wallpaper and bookbinding paste (had to change the hideous attic duck wallpaper and loud bathroom wallpaper) and chalk paint on the exterior (from playskool pink to modern grey).

Solid 4.5 Stars. Great product with easy assembly

Great product - well loved and received by my kiddo. Wonderful father-daughter project! First the good! - Construction is very easy! Any functional adult or a teenager can build this house. - Excellent instructions! (and I don't think I've ever said that before!) Not too wordy, lots of good pictures, easy steps... I seriously don't think I could improve upon them! - Fit in finish is spot on! All of the holes aligned and everything came together tightly. I am impressed! - Assembly requires only one tool! A Phillips screwdriver (I'd recommend a #1 tip instead of the more common #2). - Construction time was exactly 1h 15min, with my kiddo "helping" me. I've never done anything like this before, but I am mechanical. - House looks nice, like the picture. The bad: - Minor issue: two of the panels were mislabeled that cause a bit of of confusion. L&M panels. Not a huge issue. - Biggest problem is the material. Every panel is made effectively from pressed cardboard. The only wood parts are very thin roof shingles. If this thing gets wet, its done. It's pretty strong, but probably at least half as strong as a plywood house would be. In their defense: the material is likely much cheaper to make than plywood and I am guessing that part of the reason that everything came together so nicely is because unlike wood, this material does not swell or warp over time with temperature shifts. This house will not become a family heirloom, but it was a fun project for the two of us and something I hope she will have lots of fun with. Overall, this kit is well worth the money and a good buy.

Missing pieces!!!

Something is terribly wrong at the dollhouse factory! Ours came missing two primary components (upper floor and an outside wall) - and duplicated the front door! How does a factory make 3 large errors in shipping one product??? In any case, it's a TON of work to assemble, it's not particularly sturdy. In fact, if I were to assemble it again I would glue all the joints with wood glue. One good bump and this house will look like the San Francisco Earthquake hit it. Ir's a reasonable value... huge toy for not much money. If you have a careful kid this dollhouse might last a few years. But any moderate accident pop this into pieces. But none of that matters right now, because we can't complete the thing for lack of primary parts! We did call into the hot line and got a "customer service" rep who took down all the info and said she would talk to the parts replacement customer service rep and we should get an email back in a week or so. Really. Let's see what happens. I'll be patient. But if I told my customers, "We'll send you an email in a week or so" I wouldn't have much of a business after long. If you want a big dollhouse on a budget, then this is your pick and is a good deal if all the pieces show up. But if you are looking for old world craftsmanship - that's not what this is. Finally, be prepared to spend a solid 2 - 4 hours putting this thing together. One has to ask, in addition to the purchase price, "What is my time worth?"

A nice large doll house

This doll house is Sturdy and would be good for children to play with, although I bought it for myself. It wasn’t terribly difficult to put together, but it did take a while. I definitely think it would be a lot easier if two people put it together. Holding the pieces together while putting in the screws can be a little challenging sometimes. I built it over the course of three days and it wasn’t until I had the roof on that I was sure it was going to be sturdy. However, once the roof was on I was able to tighten up all the screws completely and everything is really great. this is a fairly basic doll house and I am using it as a foundation. I have added lights, a mailbox and I plan to continue adding other small touches such as shutters And a door knocker. I really want to make this my own.

Great item study and heavy.

Christmas gift for little one. Only thing is very heavy and little one can’t move it without help not even to the other side of the room. Rooms heights a little shorter then I would like. Had canopy bed and it would only fit in one room, so had to remove the top so she could put it any place she wanted.

Timely Assembly required!

Very detailed and beautiful craftsmanship but allow yourself at least 3 hrs to assemble all the pieces. I would have given 5 stars if at least some of the doll house came pre-assembled.

My granddaughter loves her dollhouse!

It’s a great dollhouse! There are a lot of screws but it’s very sturdy and my 2 year old granddaughter absolutely loves it and plays with it everyday. We gave it to her for Christmas complete with Calico Critters and their furniture and she was starstruck.

Super awesome, and totally worth the price!

Super awesome dollhouse! Amazon delivered it quickly. Once I unboxed it, there were some slight scratches and marks on some of the pieces, I did have to touch some of it up with paint and glue, but they were very minor defects. It took me around an hour and a half to unbox and completely build it, and I was able to do it by myself with no help. All the pieces were included, and the instructions were very easy to follow! I for sure recommend this dollhouse!

Achetée pour ma fille, cette maison est tout simplement magnifique. Les instructions sont claires et précises, seulement quelques numéros de pièces mal indiqués. Livraison plus rapide que prévu! On ne peut pas trouver mieux pour ce prix!
