Unexpected Surprise!
If it is Maxpedition, you know it will be a quality piece. This organizer, which I would refer to as more like an oversized admin pouch, can fit absolutely every little thing from every pocket or packet that you have spread around the clothes you wear or the stuff that is always bouncing around and slipping out of reach. If you want to take the weight out of your pockets and packets and get everything you need for EDC moving through the world into one place, with the addition of a solid strap that you can wear over the shoulder or cross-body, this organizer will do it. Even when it is packed to the gills, the height and width is still large enough to handily hold and conceal some of the larger, heavier tools of the trade we may otherwise strap to our belt. It really does look simple from the outside, but this organizer is simply able to do anything you ask of it.

This fits the bill
I needed a shoulder bag to carry my daily essentials: medication, cell phone, AM/FM/SW portable radio, wallet, corporate badge, flashlight, and keys. Messenger-style bags were not considered, as the flap impedes access to the main pouch. I've used the Spec Ops Rat Pack for many years. It is a great bag with a a few features that the Neatfreak lacks. That said, the Neatfreak is a little bit larger, and a significantly stiffer. This makes it more suitable for my daily carry. After, removing the center divider, everything that was in the Rat Pack fit into the Neetfreak, with additional room for my medications; effectively eliminating the medical push that was stored in my backpack. This is a big deal, for me, as it allows me to keep all my essentials with me, in cases when I cannot return to my desk. (Say, do to a fire.) Pros (1) The stiffness / "bulkiness" makes the Neatfreak a better should bang, than the Rat Pack IMHO (The Rat Pack is a much better in-pocket (backpack) organizer than the Neatfreek.) (2) The Molly webbing on the outer flap pocket is not esthetically pleasing, but the pocket itself is quite useful for quick access to small items. I find that when the Neatfreak is fully packed, the front mesh pocket is not very useful. (This was not true with the Rat Pack.) (3) I didn't think i would like the interior pockets w/hook-and-loop closure. It turns out that these pockets made it possible to include my medical supplies. The pockets are small, but big enough eye drops, needle clippers, env. The hook-and-loop ensures that those small items stay in place. YMMV. (4) The slightly wider profile makes it possible to store an iPhone plus phone horizontally. Meaning it can store more things easily. Cons (1) The belt loop, on the back, impedes access to the rear stash pocket. Also, due to the stiffness of the bag, the belt loop doesn't seem that effective. (2) Maxpedition should use a lighter color for the interior, for low light situations. The grey color is O,K., but orange (Rat Pack), yellow, or even white would be better, IMO, Conclusion I like this bag, and would buy it again. It should serve my needs well. As for my Rat Pack, it has already been repurposed.

Awesome EDC Bag!!!
I purchased this bag in August of 2010 and it sat unused for a long time until I finally figured out how to properly use it as an EDC bag. It took a long time to get to that point for all of the reasons that people "Con" it. What I found out is that it needs a long break-in time packed tight with a lot of "junk" to expand it along with a lot of human crunching, twisting, and abuse to loosen it up. I removed the middle "flap" and retired it to the closet, making the Neatfreak a LOT less cumbersome. After I got it sufficiently "loose enough," I removed all of the "junk" used to expand it, and realised something that amazed me - my current EDC bag, a fully-loadedMaxpedition Fatty Pocket Organizer would fit *PERFECTLY* in the back pocket with the fold-down Velcro strap! Most of my "must-have" EDC items were in the Fatty, but I regretted not being able to carry in it a few other items that I wanted. But now, with the Fatty sitting in the Neatfreak's back pocket, I could add those few items that I was missing. The most notable item was a bottle of Hand Sanitiser! I like this product a lot because I can easily clean my hands without a visit to the bathroom of wherever I am, and since it is more than 60% alcohol, it makes a great fire-starting accelerator too! The bottle fits perfectly to the left side of the Fatty - outside the pocket - and on the right side I keep my Leatherman Surge multi-tool. In the small pockets between them, I keep a magnesium fire stick and a knife sharpener. On the opposite side of the Fatty, I keep pens, paper, an emergency blanket, and on the strap I keep an emergency whistle. In the gun magazine pockets, I keep USB cables for my cell-phone and camera (which themselves reside in the Fatty) along with two spare batteries for the cell-phone, matches and a lighter for my three ways of starting a fire in an emergency. In spite of all of that, there is still plenty of room for other items! I keep germ masks in case of emergencies in the front webbing pocket, and for quick access, my IDs, credit cards, and cash in the front zipper pocket. Finally, I keep a large pill bottle filled with cotton balls to round-out my EDC. The cotton makes good tinder - just soak it in Hand Sanitiser, and the pill bottle can double as a cup to drink out of in an emergency situation. The Neatfreak is now my favourite EDC bag and it goes with me everywhere! I love the modularity of having it hold the Fatty. I am a confirmed Neatfreak fanatic and never leave home without it.

Great bag to carry all your stuff in 1 place.
Well, never been an EDC bag carrying kinda guy before. But as the pandemic has worn on, I have found myself carrying around masks, gloves, hand sanitizer along with my usual stuff. I mean some stuff I leave in the car but having some of these things with ya when out is very handy. Not loading all my pockets up with stuff and keeping it all in one place, well this bag is a good solution for that. Load it, throw it over your shoulder and off ya go. Or keep all your stuff nicely organized in the bag and keep the bag tucked away in the car. Both ways have worked thus far for me. Tip: If you're gonna carry, don't overload it. It can get heavy. As with other Maxpedition products, this is very well made. There are allot of cheaper options out there, but I think where Maxpedition stands out is in the details and higher quality materials. I mean, this bag will likely last me a lifetime...

Bigger than you think..and it grows...
A little larger than you think it looks...even with a clear description of the dimensions. When you actually use it and put items in it, it quickly gets big...big like a 'ugly Murse'... you definitely don't want to be shoulder carrying this thing...it doesn't look nice as a shoulder carry. It IS perfect however, for an EDC bag that you store in another bag or as a standalone in your car. Holds a lot of EDC gear. I have found that the removable velcro sleeve is better replaced with a 'Grid-It', as there are not enough slots in the tear our sleeve...so I just don't use it. Overall, it is a big bag, and good for a EDC Medical Kit as it will hold everything you would want to carry. Anything more that you add to this bag makes it too large and too heavy to really utilize as an EDC bag. Big...any larger it becomes too big.

It's freaky neat.
It's a fantastic EDC bag. It holds all the rubbish I carry in a small form factor. And when I open it everything is there neatly laid out. It is small so don't expect to carry your groceries home in it. The construction is superb as one expects from Maxpedition.
