Short list of what's wrong with it, good explanation of why.
I realize many of us use such a bag for his/her custom purposes, and it's impossible to please everybody. However the following is a list of design errors that honestly apply to all. I have two Lunada bags -- they rotate, and contrary to Maxpedition's warning, yes, you can machine-wash them, AIR DRY them (NO dryer), the fabric will soften considerably, shrink a little, load the bag and it stretches back -- and I was looking for something just a little larger. The dimensions of this bag are perfect for me. BUT: 1. One of the selling points is the tablet compartment. Many of us will carry a tablet in there. And Maxpedition seems to have an immovable mental block on this: No one in his/her right mind will carry an expensive tablet "in the raw." We put our tablets in cases, sometimes expensive ones, and the overall thickness is still 3/4 of an inch or less, yet it's a battle inserting these in the tablet compartment. What is so difficult about giving a little more room for the tablet? 2. The velcro strap that closes over the tablet has been replaced with a strong plastic buckle. That's nice, much quieter than velcro. But Maxpedition had to go ahead and mess up a good idea by mounting it wrong -- the stationary buckle is up on the flap that covers the compartment (seen in the product's last picture here on Amazon), and the snap part is on an adjustable strap coming from below. Easy to open, and a job-and-a-half to close. This should have been done the other way around. 3. Replaced webbing strap with car-seat safety-belt material. Why? What was wrong with the good-old military webbing strap? The safety-belt material, you try to adjust it to length, it slips out of adjustment. 4. Oh the fabulous Tactie PJC5/PJC3 polymer joining clips -- Has anyone at Maxpedition tried to work with these in cold weather when they won't bend at all? I'll unload this bag on eBay, since I can't return it, and go back to my Lunada.
