It worked pretty well, and it did tighten the nylon strap ...

I used this to install HVAC flexible ducts under my house. It worked pretty well, and it did tighten the nylon strap just fine. The problem comes when you want to cut off the tie. To make the strap good and tight, you will want to grip the black handles nearer to the ends and squeeze. When it is tight, you have to re-adjust your grip to grab the silver cut-off portion of the tool. When you are already contorted and uncomfortable in a crawl-space trying to get the strap in properly to begin with, this moving of your grip sometimes allows the tool to slip a little off the tie strap. You then have to get it back into position and squeeze the smaller silver lever to cut the strap. After a long day, I would have preferred more leverage to cut the strap. I also pinched my finger with the silver lever. I must have been in a hurry when I ordered this and when I went to use it, realized that it was the manual cut-off. I really wanted to order the TY6 that automatically cuts the tie at the right tension. I would look into that tool.
