Better than most

I personally have come to the conclusion that there’s no such thing as a leak-proof guinea pig water bottle that the average guinea can still get water from. However, this is the closest I’ve found. After it’s been refilled, there’s some leaking when it’s first put back in its holder, but once it’s set up, I haven’t seen it leak. That being said, my guinea seems to be a sloppy drinker! I know this, because I used to have another guinea who wasn’t. His cage was consistently dry, hers was consistently soaked. They had identical water bottles, but thinking one might be defective, I switched them. Again, his cage was dry, hers was soaked. I’ve watched her drink from this particular bottle, and a surprising amount of water “misses” her mouth in the process. It appears to be partly due to the fact that she tends to drink from the side of her mouth. I believe there’s going to be some dripping with most guineas while drinking, but she’s definitely got more of an issue with it than most. I’ve tried various set-ups, but the one that has worked best in our case is this bottle with a kennel dish that attaches to the side of the cage right below it. I empty the dish each morning, refill the bottle, and we’re good to go. She can drink from the bowl if she chooses, but she always has clean water available in the bottle. I also like this bottle in this setup because it’s plastic, so won’t break, and the wire hanger keeps it securely attached to the cage, and keeps its position steady when she pulls on it to drink.

Decent and functional

Pros: doesn't leak at all so far, and hook is tight on the bottle so it holds fast. Cons: A bit small, difficult to fill to the top.

Good idea but ...

The bottle constantly drips; not for indoor use. Update: after filling and hanging the drips stopped within a few hours. Pet isn't curious as to it's usefulness. Good idea to provide clean water but only if...

Favorite water bottle

I have a lot of guinea pigs and go through a lot of water bottles. Of all the brands I've tried, these seem to leak the least. But they do end up eventually leaking. However my last order from 3/16 that was supposed to be 1 day shipping still hasn't arrived as of 3/23, so I'm still dealing with extra cage cleaning from leaking bottles.

works okay once you get used to it.

Still have leaks sometimes, but if I work real hard to get the air out it definitely reduces the issue. Doesn't leak much once in use for a little bit.

Better than most

There is only certain times this bottle leaks that I have noticed. When you first turn it down after filling it and for a few seconds when you attach it to the cage. Other than that I have not seen it leak.

Very leaky

I bought two of these but have only used one. My pups won't drink from it and it leaks all over the puppy pen as soon as the ball is touched. I have now purchased a non leak bottle, which suggests that this is an issue with these bottles. Very disappointed.

Inaccurate item description.

The product is misrepresented. It claims to have a 5/8” drinking spout but the item delivered has a 3/8” spout. It appears that I am expected to pay £3.50 postage when returning the item but I intend to take this up with Amazon.

no gasket inside cap

I just got this bottle today, and as the card it comes on says, I checked inside the cap for the rubber gasket....there is not one. I will be getting my money back or a replacement. They need that rubber ring! I am not impressed! I needed this to replace an old bottle that became leaky, and meanwhile my pigs are still having to drink out of a bowl which has to be changed multiple times daily. They would have been enjoying their water right now in this bottle if it came as it should have-ready to use. There isn't any excuse these days for consumers ordering items that come with missing or defective parts. :( UPDATE- even before I could post this, Amazon is shipping me out another one asap. Thank you Amazon! Meanwhile I tested the bottle out, but just as we all know, without the rubber gasket water dripped from the cap itself. I will be happy when I get the replacement very soon. Um, I wonder what the chances are of getting TWO without a gasket!? No.....that just can't possibly happen....... :(

Waste of money.

Nope. Not a good buy. Well, it does hold a lot of water, it drips constantly, so the water was all gone in the morning. Well, not gone, just contributed to a poopy paste when it mixed with, well, their poopy bits. ???? Aside from that unpleasant mess, which took 6 bounty quicker picker upper paper towel sheets, this thing is NOISY! Makes an annoying rattle sound as our little piggies drink. Very annoying. And then there’s the poopy slurry mess. Nope, not a good buy. We had to scoot over to the pet store this morning to buy a better water bottle.
