Excellent compact chandelier

First, keep in mind that at this price point, this item is at best brassplated, not even close to solid brass. The finish is mostly the same polished brass color, but, when all the lights are burning, it's a thing of beauty. But, its 27 in diameter and number of lights was just what we needed. Hung it in dining room over the dining table. Couple of notes: 1. Given that it is "brass," I highly recommend wearing cloth gloves while handling so as to minimize fingerprints. 2. The unit is relatively light; you should be able to hold it up with one arm while working on attaching to ceiling. 3. Unit comes packed in cheap styrofoam -- I cleaned up styrofoam pellets for a couple of days after installation. 4. Installation is straightforward; just take your time and do what makes sense. Instructions were sketchy. 5. Seriously consider using a dimmer switch and dimmable LED chandelier base bulbs. 16 undimmed incandescent 40w bulbs will be bright (and hot) enough to remove paint from the walls. 6. A lot of the small parts are packed inside the brass ball. You will probably use all the parts except maybe the wire nuts. All things considered, an excellent product. And my wife approves.
