A really useful box I have several installed.

It doesn't come with a fitted cover.

You'll have to purchase a separate Blank off plate at your local hardware store (or on Amazon) , but you won't find one that fits the 'small' side of the wall box. The wall box has a slight trapezoid shape: One open side of the box is bigger than the other. Mounting the larger side to a wall plate, will cover it neatly b ut leaves you with a lot of overhang.

Good for light duty work

The base and frame are detachable and they are not attached tightly. This box is good for a switch but not for an outlet. Pulling on the plug could detach the frame from the base. Not very sturdy.

Could be a buck less, but still a great value and addresses some modern wiring issues.

Purchased to address lack of room in existing in-wall box for the amount of wire being "stuffed" into the box after replacing a duplex socket with a duplex surge suppressor socket. It was very easy to trim away as needed to create a safe box/housing for the application. The result was a nice, clean looking and safe installation.

Thin light weight plastic

The good part is it has lots of room. Lots of volume for wiring. The box separates from the base easily but reattaches securely. But the plastic body is very thin, but easy to drill with a unibit to run wires in the side. Only the base has knockouts.

Nice and function, but somewhat flimsy

Works, looks good, easy to install.... except that plastic (sides when cutting hole for the wires, tabs holding box to bracket) can break easier that I would expect.

Okay, but a bit flimsy

I bought this box because I wanted a clean white plastic look to match its surroundings. There are plenty of perforations for however you need to use it, which is nice, but that also compromises the structural integrity of the unit greatly. Once in place, the unit never really feels secure when mounted on screws; I did not try the adhesive. I bought a matching Lutron outlet cover and the fit wasn't quite right, with this box being a bit smaller than the cover and difficult to align well because plastic. Overall though, it works fine once installed, and I'm satisfied with the overall appearance.

Perfect.

This surface mount gang box worked perfectly for mounting both my TP-Link AC1200's. The ability to remove the back panel and take remove a punchout on the bottom for the ethernet cable was perfect. The boxes are thinner then a gang box you would mount in the wall so I used an Exacto blade to make removing the punchout easier.

Works great

The back plate is separate from sides of the box and they join using tabs. There are also breakaway panels on the sides of the box if you need to run the cable that way. No breakaways on the top or bottom. You have to supply your own mounting screws.
