Love the bags

I have a very large dog, and it fits him at it's largest expansion without dropping down the bags. Wish the bags were detachable and that the connector for the chest was clickable so he doesn't have to step through. Color is great. Seems very durable. Like the 2 pockets on each bag.

Great pack!

I work with pack goats and it's hard to find a soft pack for goats. I bought the big Baxter for my large wether and it works really really well! Haven't had any problems so far.and he looks handsome.

Hooray! A pack that fits big dogs.

So far so good. The Big Baxter fits my 1 year old, 140 lb. American Akita. I still had room for adjustments to make it comfortable for him. Especially if he continues to grow anymore. His chest measurement is currently 37 inches.

Our dog loves his backpack

We have a pretty hyperactive dog. We were told to try a backpack for him. He loves it! He happily puts it on and is much more well behaved in it. We put some of his balls and a water bowl in it for him to carry. It really is a great tool.

I really wanted to like this bag more.

Unfortunately, I can see the regrettable outcome of this bag on an active dog. I wish the material used was much stronger, and much more durable. I thought the only bone I would have to pick would be about how the orange bag is mostly black/orange rather than orange/black. Honestly, I was looking for one that was mostly orange or all orange, this was as close as I would get. Okay. First off, the saddlebags are not removable. They appear to be but are not. So there is no taking it off to repair, or replace. Second, the buckling straps on the side that go under the dog's chest are connected to the bag, not the harness. So, if the saddlebag unravels or gets a hole, that is the end of the entire saddlebag setup! Third. I get the need to have a sure fit but, there were just too many adjustment points for me and it took too long and was never really adjusted for my dog before I gave up. Trying to prevent the saddlebags from flopping while fitting the steps around the girth of my dog and still yet, allowing breathing room was almost impossible! I have a small/medium-sized dog and unfortunately, this wasn't a good fit for me or my dog.

Sizing runs small/ not good for multi day adventure

This pack is for 50-110 lbs & was purchased for my Rottie bitch of 90 lbs. I could get it on her once I loosened the straps nearly to the end. I don't think it would fit over her raincoat, unfortunately the raincoat went to lil Buster also. Scrawny Buster in attached pictures weighs only 50 lbs, Neck 16.5" Chest 32". The size of the packs r more for day trips or 2-3 days depending. I filled a gallon Ziploc baggy w 10 cups of kibble per side. U could fit some poo bags on top. A 16 oz water bottle will fit inside. I don't think a Sawyer 1L bladder would fit. I needed a pack that my experienced train dog can haul his gear 7 days minimum so I need to find another solution for them. Pros - solid built quality that looks like it'll hold up will for years of adventure - bags removable - fits so the weight will be carried on shoulders vs back - bags r up high & secured so they won't bounce as the dog trots down the trail - sits securely no matter if dog climbing up boulders, crossing streams of siding down a snow covered hill. - has 2 loops either side of the handle so u can secure extras - has tiny zip pockets on each bag that u can get some paperwork inside a baggy Cons - their sizing is way small - reached out to online customer service prior to purchase for help & they were worthless. - so far everything I've order has not fit. I thought I'd b smart & order 1 size up on fleece jacket, it's too big Ha! I just can't win

Adjustments not the best

A little complicated and finicky to adjust. Can loosen a little as you walk especially if you have a puller. Otherwise big pockets and overall not bad.

Straps slip with normal use!!!

We got the normal baxter for our 27" chested pup. I appreciated all the points of adjustment and got it to fit / sit perfectly before our first hike. Sadly, that didn't matter since the straps (literally all of them) slipped loose within the first 45min. At best, it was inconvenient to make frequent stops to readjust each one on the trail. Eventually, it got downright dangerous since we never got fit just-right again, and our dog could squirm out when the leash was attached at the front. And when we attached it at the back, the straps rode-up onto his trachea and choked him (he's a puller). I went straight to Kurgo to deal with returning / exchanging it, and they were very helpful. We'll try the RSG county + panniers next and see how that goes.

Brilliant pack for my Labrador to come camping

My first bit of Kurgo kit for my dog (a very athletic male Labrador) and he loved it! Takes a bit of time to get the fit right but there is lots of adjustment so once you have it sorted it fits really well. First camping trip he wore it for two or three hours a day with no rubbing. Pouches are not huge (even on this Big one) but room for his food, bowl, poo bags and even him long lead. Kurgo seem to have addressed issues with the zips which now close front to back so don't open when the dog runs through bushes. Seem sturdy too, so bought another one for my other Labrador.

Good backpack for price, but some minor flaws

This is a good dog backpack for the price (especially when you look at other brands such as Ruff Wear). It holds a good amount of items (dog bowl, food, water and long line leash). It’s easy to put on and my dog looks very comfortable (no rubbing etc). The minor flaws are that when running the backpack does tend to topple to one side, even when you try to balance the weight on either side. You need to have the straps relatively tight to help it stay in place. The smaller from zip pockets also come undone really easily, so I would advise only putting items in the deeper pockets. Overall worth the money! ????

Dog pack

We got the big baxter for our 36kg lurcher and this is perfect the saddle bags are a perfect size they are big enough to carry water bottles and the collapsible bowl for drinking from with some treats and a couple spare balls

Not Ruffwear but £120 cheaper

It's okay. It's not a Ruffwear product tho as an earlier review points out. In the long run, I haven't saved money by buying cheaper, it has cost me more and when you love and trust a quality brand, why compromise?

Strong and comfortable

I bought this for my sons dog in NZ and took it with A perfect fit and well constructed. His dog took to straight away. I was so impressed with it I will be buying one for my own dog
