Good price for a combo lock but no mount!
This is a good lock but no way to mount on my bike without buying a separate lock holder

Solid lock, if it didn't have a fatal security flaw
The media could not be loaded. This is a solid lock, but the combination mechanism makes it nearly useless. It will certainly stop a dumb bike thief, but anyone with a litle knowledge can have it unlocked in a couple minutes. Start with the left-most digit, push the release button to the right, and see if the digit moves left. If it moves, increment it by one and try again. Do this until it stops moving with the release button. Move to the next digit and repeat until the lock opens. This is honestly inexcusable at this point for a lock company to make this kind of mistake these days. I'll probably keep using it for my beater bike, but no way would I put this on anything of any value. Edit: Added a video showing how to figure out the combination in under a minute.

Excellent value U-lock from a well known brand
Review of: **Kryptonite Combo Bike U-Lock Standard, Anti-Theft Security Bicycle Lock, 12mm Steel Shackle, 4-Digit Resettable Combination U Lock for Scooter Road Mountain Bikes** After years of using U-locks with keys, I am really pleased with this combination lock option from Kyryptonite. No more having to keep ahold of the key. The locking/unlocking works very well and when closed, it is very secure. Yes, virtually any lock can be defeated by thieves these days, but these U-locks will at least slow most of them down or possibly make the would-be thief look for a different target. Setting your own combination is simple. Just set to the default code (0005), unlock, and then use the special supplied tool to put it into "programming" mode. Set you new combo and then push the unlock lever - you're done. And the integrated dust cover to keep dirt and debris out of the combination dial is a nice touch. But beyond being a very solid and easy to use lock, I am equally impressed by the price. Normally $25, but 25% off right now plus a $2 off "coupon" brings it down to under $17. For a name-brand lock with a lifetime warranty AND a protection plan to help cover the loss if the lock is broken, this price is really good. Just make sure the shackle is large enough for what you want to secure.

Weighty security, but not perfect
On the whole, this is a nice U lock for the price and for medium-level security. I wouldn’t trust this with a pricey bike or one that is my only source of transportation. And I’d be careful/think twice about using this in a situation where I’d be away from the bike for an extended period of time (like locking the bike outside a college dorm, for example, as a student). And that’s expected - this is listed by Kryptonite as medium/lower in their range of security. And, while it’s thick and would be hard to cut through, a 4 digit code doesn’t provide THAT much security - given enough time (as shown by the video in another review) you CAN crack it. But for my fitness bike that I might ride around town for errands, this is fine to lock up a bike for a short time while you run into a store or have lunch or something like that. Purely the heft and impressive look of the thing will deter many thieves. As with any U-lock, you’ll want to make sure you’re able to get it through the key parts of your bike (lower triangle/rear wheel - if a high crime area, maybe taking off your front wheel and also putting the U through it) and whatever you’re locking it to. The combination makes it easy and quick to lock and unlock and the action is smooth. One downside here is that it’s both heavy and has no real way to mount it to your bike. I’m using some Velcro straps I had to put it on my fitness bike, but given the weight and lack of mounting, I wouldn’t use this with my lightweight road bike. So if you’re looking for something of a medium security level to easily lock up a bike for a short time to deter a thief and don’t mind the weight, this is a reasonable option, particularly for the price, from a good brand. Give it a try today!
