Stunning. Take your time with installation.

Just a beautiful piece of artwork. Glass is painted on the underside and looks more like gold leaf strips. It seems very well made and with the faucet, it is really nice...and well seems to be well made. It has great instructions. I dont have it installed yet, but will let you know how that goes. INSTALLATION UPDATE: Faucet was fairly easy to install and it came with all the hardware including the braided hot/cold water flexible lines. If you have installed a faucet before, its fairly straight forward. Operation works as the book says and valves open/close without any leakage down the waterfall. The waterfall is very cool. One thing I am noticing is that with the lack of an water regulating aerator, there is a ALOT of water that comes out of the waterfall. So if you like to conserve water, this may not be for you. The sink presented an interesting challenge to keep it from wobbling. If you have seen the circular vessel sinks, you may notice that they are typically supported by some kind of a thick ring that fits over the drain hole. Since the circular vessels are uniform, my understanding is the ring allows the sink to rest nicely. The challenge with the rectangle is that the underside is not uniform and there is no "ring" support for the sink to sit on. And it is not flat, so it sits on a non-uniform footprint about the size of your palm. The instructions show the drain plug and the series of washers/gaskets and a tightening nut that holds the sink to the counter. There is a thin rubber washer that goes in the sink where the drain is inserted, while the thick rubber gasket and firm plastic washer and tightening nut go under the counter. When you install it this way (per the instructions) there is no real support of the sink and it wobbles and it also spins. Note that you cannot tighten the nut with tools, because it will shatter the sink. In this way, the glass sink is sitting directly on the counter, I called Kraus and talked with a guy who was semi helpful. I asked if I could use silicone under the sink to get a better grip on the counter and provide support. He said it was OK and it would not affect the painted bottom. But the more I thought about it, silicone is flexible and although the spinning may be fixed, it like would still wobble. I also didnt want to gunk up the counter top with silicone caulking, because I really didnt know how much to put on. And, the instructions dont even call for silicone. So I did a little searching on-line and found a solution that doesnt require silicone. Instead of putting the thick rubber gasket under the counter (Like the instructions tell you), I put it between the sink bottom and the counter. With this washer being thick and flexible/compressible, it essentially served in the same role as using silicone from a tube, without the wait for curing and the mess. Now the glass sits on the rubber gasket rather than the marble counter top. The firm washer and the tightening nut are still underneath. This solution may be Kraus intent anyway, and its just shown incorrectly (I believe) in the instructions (which are not very detailed by the way) Overall, the sink is fairly tight to the counter top. If you put pressure on it, you can wobble it, but it returns to a level position. If you really force it, you can spin it, but why would you?! At the end of the day, I like the fact that there is some give in the rubber gasket that I put under the sink, allowing the minimal movement. Frankly, Kraus should have a pre-molded gasket (something larger in my opinion) that gives the sink more support.

Looks beautiful, but beware ......

We bought two of these Krauss vessel sinks for our remodeled bathroom. The first thing that happened was that some of the goldleaf paint on the outside of the sink came off (don't tape anything to the outside of the sink), and although the inside still looks good the outside, which will be seen, obviously has flaws in it. Krauss would do nothing for us when we called them stating that they had no extra paint to send us and they don't warranty until after 30 days! My husband is going to clearcoat the outside of both sinks before they are installed to stop any further loss of paint. The bottom of the sinks are not completely flat and therefore are wobbly. Fortunately, we are recessing the sinks 2" below the vanity top so that will not be an issue for us, but if you are mounting them as Krauss wants you to: completely above the vanity top, they probably will need shimming in some way or other to keep them stable. Other than all that I do like the color and look of the sink, but a little better customer service from Krauss would have been appreciated.

Stunning waterfall sink

Once I got the complete 3 piece sink, (first shipment did not include the faucet and drain,) I thought the sink was stunning. It is a little more silver tone than citrine tone which I was hoping for, but it works with my color scheme pretty well. The bowl is shallow so water from the waterfall splashes on my back wall if on too strong.

It isn't even installed yet and I have received a ton of compliments. I love it. It is massive and solid. Thanks to amazon warehouse deals I was able to buy thing at 1/4 of the original price. All items are there, not damage...the box had been opened.

Beware of the color

The sink and faucet are very good quality. However, the sink is not really gold as in metallic gold. Only on the bottom is it gold. The inside is bright yellow/gold color...not metallic color at all. Beware of this. I am returning it.
