Good basket with some issues

Very useful basket but… 1) Like others have said, the mounting hardware isn’t great. 2) Use locking washers, not stop nuts. The vinyl lined stop nuts loosen over time. 3 The pins that hold the tailgate up rattle quite loudly when operating the ATV. I’ll have to coat them in something to get rid of the noise.

Decent frame, poor tailgate stays and worse customer service

This is a tough one. Overall the quality of the rack is very good. Easy to put together and everything lines up. I like the feel of it. I added some pipe insulation to the ATV rack and used the supplied u-bolts - all good. The wire tailgate stays however popped right out when I lowered the tailgate. They are secured only by flimsy plastic ‘buttons’. Customer service was truly horrible. Person answering phone clearly had no idea about the product. Best offer was send in pics and proof of purchase(?) and then 0 response. I’ve gone to hardware store to build a more reliable set-up for tailgate remaining horizontal but a little disappointing overall.

Koolpin Rack

We have a specific use for this rack. Fast and easy to put together and install. Less than an hour. Awesome addition to the machine.

It's perfect.

I use it daily. It holds everything I need to take with me. Lunch, chainsaw (ms400) gas,oil. Had to drill holes in it for gun holders during hunting season. It's VERY STURDY.

The tubular design is good, smooth lines. 1rst the negatives. the rear portion did not line up exactly but with use of a bar clamp was able to get the last bolt in place for assembly. 2ndly, the gate when in the open position is not designed ( my opinion ) to hold more than 10-20 lbs. 3rd the mounting hardware leads much to be desired. I used black electrical zip ties to anchor the basket to my Bayou 300 which has the metal tubular racks. I found this basket to be very nice and fits my ATV perfectly. The basket holds a lot of items. Also is quiet, I couldn't hear any metal to metal rattling above the engine. Assembling & mounting took approximately 2 1/2 hrs in my case. All my friends who have seen it decided they need one too. I'm much satisfied, and am glad I chose this particular basket. For the design, construction, & price, I recommend this product without reservation. Also this vendor had a quick delivery of less than 2 wks.

Well made, Useful and Sturdy.

Let me start by saying....... I did not have all the problems that so many talked about. The item arrived and it was fine. The directions are simple and to the point. Not rocket science to put six parts together. The screw bolts fit perfectly and the basket fit like a glove. I did not have to man handle it or anything. A second set of hands to help hold the sides up while you get it started is a real help! If you think you are going to travel into the bush with it........then yeah, the back little wires may get tangled in the bush..... I personally have had no problems with that at all. The tail gate folds down and is very handy to use when you need some platform to use to change your chain saw blades or something like that. Yes the paint is a little light. It is not powder coated like bumpers. So Repaint it any color you want. If you want to match your ATV! Its gonna get beat up. It's a basket! All in all, I love the darn thing. Works great. Built descent! Does what it's supposed to do, and it didn't break the budget. ..........Update! Went to Lowe's and purchased zip ties in the electrical dept. The big black ones. They have a 175 lb. break strength. Used 6 ties on the rack. Works Great insted of the U bolts! Takes less time to set up and tear down when you want to go riding and don't need the rack on back. Use more if you feel the need, but the 6 worked great for me.

great accessory for needed flexible space

love this addition, the only downfalls I had were that for the new rack design on Honda Atv's is it's not very excepting and the hardware provided doesn't work in this application. 2nd the pins that secure the tailgate closed do not line up properly so when the gate goes up my kids or wife have to get my help to pull the outer rails toward one another so the pins will line up with the factory holes. one trick that I have taught them is to use a ratchet strap when I'm not available to help them.

Easy to follow instructions, works great.

Only owned it for a few weeks now but works great for carrying pails and baits for bear guiding. Kinda dont like the mount brackets that go through the screen instead of the main frame but we will see how long it lasts. If it fails will just need to get longer U bolts and mount to main frame. So far so good, works great.
