Kingston Brass Faulty Design of Kitchen Faucet Valve Stem

After researching faucets I settled on the Kingston Brass wide-spread faucet as it appeared to have good reviews. Upon receipt of the first faucet it appeared to be of sturdy construction. After installing the faucet it became apparent that there was a defect in one of the valve stems and after investigation I found that a hole was present where the waterline connection meets the valve stem. I returned the faucet and recieved another one quickly. It functioned properly for nearly 8 months but it too developed a hole in the same spot as the first one I returned. Beware of any valve stem that is not solid to the water line connection as is the Kingston Brass design. Is it possible that there was a bad batch of valve stems? The odds of developing a hole in the same spot on two different units is hard to imagine but I know I will never buy a Kingston Brass product again. The quality of their product is only surpassed by their warranty as so far they have refused to respond to my warranty request. 10 year? yeah.

Where's the water?

Love the look of these faucets, and they are well made. I would have given them a 5-star rating, except that as I was testing them following installation, I noticed notably less water flow out of the spigot. After much adjusting and fussing by my contractor trying to discover the reason for the low flow, I called Kingston Brass. They informed me that all of their faucet sets are manufactured "California compatible", regardless of where they are sent. This means that water flow is reduced to no more than 1.5 gallons per minute, down from the 2.7 GPM or so produced by the average faucet. Yes, I'm saving precious water and likely will get used to the faucet spitting on my dishes to rinse them, but this is something that should have been disclosed up front.
