One of my favorites, looks good, highly functional

I have had one of these hats for a couple of years now. I found it when I was searching for a USA-made toque. Now I am purchasing a second one, in black. The first one is still going strong, with very light wear even though I use it quite often. These are great because they stop the wind. One thing that always annoys me about knit toques is that they allow the wind to pass through, unless you find a nice dense wool one. The nylon acts as the windbreaker, and the synthetic insulation inside is warm and dries fast. Another great thing about the nylon shell is that it is slippery. Snow doesn't stick to it, so you are less likely to get wet from snow melt. The slipperyness makes this hat ideal for sleeping. I like to wear it to sleep in a sleeping bag while camping, and sometimes in bed when it is cold in the house during the winter time. Since the shell is slippery and the inside of the hat is not, it does not fall off my head in the middle of the night. The hat is deep enough to reach my eyebrows and cover my ears; all but the lobes. The hat size is adjustable. I wear a 7 5/8 hat. If I adjust the Denali to its smallest size, it sits atop my head comically. If I adjust it to its largest size, it stays on but is loose. The second hat is being purchased for my beautiful special lady friend. She likes to wear mine, and now she will have her own.
