Issues with light dim or flickering - here’s how I fixed it

On initial install, the light was dim as others mention in the review. We put an extra lamp in the room. Then came the light flickering and then after a guest stay (fan is in the guest room) the light became super dim (couldn’t even tell it was on during the day). I tore the thing apart and couldn’t find the issue. Then a web search turned up that the remote apparently has a dimming function. With just fan speed, fan and light on/off buttons, I had no idea. If you’re experiencing similar issues, you might need to deactivate the dimming control on the remote. Here’s what worked for me - hold down the FAN OFF button, and as you’re holding that button down, quickly press the LIGHT ON/OFF button twice. The first time I did this, it didn’t seem to work, but I quickly tried it again and was successful. Now I’m quite happy with the fan. It was the easiest one I’ve ever installed (and I basically did it twice because of this issue). It’s fairly quiet. And now since I deactivated the dimming function on the remote the light is way brighter and we don’t need the extra light in the room we put in after the initial install.

Cute little fan with good air flow

It's a cute little fan (we got it because of the color to match our furniture), it was a little time consuming to install (took me 2 hours and I'm not an electrician). The air flow is pretty good for such a small fan, the light is also not bad (comes with 2 bulbs), I'm using Hue bulbs myself. The light flickering issue started next day after install, but was able to fix that using other review here.

Difficult Install

This fan is really pleasing to the eye, and perfectly matches the room we bought it for. I would have given 5 stars except the installation was much more difficult than expected and it's not as quiet as I'd hoped. It replaced a fan from around the year 2000 that was actually quieter. Not what I expected for something new from a reputable company, but we can live with it. As far as the install goes, there were a lot more pieces to pre-assemble before installing the fan and it just took extra time. The bezel piece that meets the ceiling made it really difficult to install the mounting screws.

Had an Issue, but fixed and happy with the fan

Had this recently installed in a small office / bedroom and it works great now. I did have an issue where the power goes off then back on immediately and it would do that intermittently. I emailed Hunter and they got back to me and said to deactivate the dimming feature. It was easy as it was just doing a few simple steps on the remote. Overall, happy at the end, but wish they put that in the troubleshooting guide.

Absolutely perfect for the room!

I don't know that these sorts of things are ever all that easy to install, but it's perfect for my room. I definitely want to get it in the other two color options for the other two bedrooms. It's almost silent and extremely functional for being as small as it is!

Hunter's better days as the standard of quality may be behind them

I see a previous review that says the light flickers on and off so guess I am not the only one. Mine flickers constantly and, given it is in the bedroom of an 8 year old who is unsettled by the room suddenly going dark, this turned out to be a terrible purchase. When I called the company to ask about the flickering, they responded with a note that sometimes fans have to be "trained" along with instructions on how to press the remote buttons in a certain order. Well, no luck there. Naturally, after paying to have the fan installed, the idea of tearing it down to return it was just not going to happen. I am stuck with an inferior product, at least in my eyes. Overall, I bought this fan solely as a "cosmetic" upgrade to an old, Hampton Bay, the Home Depot brand, fan. I never had an issue with flickering lights in over 10 years of ownership. It worked well. I for one have decided to no longer consider Hunter fans. (Note I bought two fans at once and the other model does worse than flickering, the light actually flickers ON if the fan is spinning at night when the light is supposed to remain off!!. Hunter says I have to "train" that fan as well) . My recommendation is if you want a fan that looks good, Hunter will be fine. But if you want one that works, research another brand.

Love The Unique Color

I love the color of this fan. Several websites were sold out. I am glad I found it on Amazon. I wanted it for my home gym. I don’t like the quality of the remote control. The plastic looks cheap. I do like the look of the fan.
