A Must Buy if you have kids

I took a chance and bought this manual toothbrush that connects to an app HUM in order to make sure my kids were brushing their teeth correctly. They have an automatic toothbrush, floss, and ACT mouthwash to use daily, and they would have no cavities, but then a bunch the next dentist visit. I have given incentives for no cavities, and that wirjed for a hot second. I have played the toothbrushing police, and it is just drama with my sons. Lol. Now that I got this toothbrush and the APP, and it has been extremely pleasant. The APP is like a video game where they have to put the camera on them brushing their teeth, and it shows where to brush to get rid of these "monsters" that are on their teeth. They brush in the back, behind, and on top, from left to right, and even their tongue. The APP tells them when to spit, and it shows then how many monsters they killed, get points, and earn gems to open up accessories, treasures, and new lands. My seven and ten year old love it. I can go on the APP as a parent, see when and what time they brush, and how well they do it percentage wide. The only thing is if you have a kiddo like my youngest who can't be still, the APP may not be able to read or connect to his brush and movements. I had to make my kid try to keep from jumping or moving out of the camera view, but he is a jumping bean like his mama. ????‍♀️ After his drama because he cried about getting a low score, I told him to brush his teeth again. There is nothing wrong with brushing more than once, and so he did. He got a higher score and double brushed. Win- win for him and me. Lol. Now, if they had something like this for flossing, I would buy it. Oh, one more thing- my youngest doesn't have his front teeth, so he wasn't getting his points for killing the monsters. I told him to brush his gums, and it gave him points. I figure, it can't hurt him and won't be crying about how unfair it is that he can't get points or gems for that. Lol. If your kid likes games and hates brushing his teeth, he will love this product. No matter how many times I told my boys to brush thoroughly, and it shouldn't take them less than a minute to brush their teeth, they wouldn't listen. This APP and brush will have them brushing all their teeth and tounge in about 2 minutes. They don't even realize the time because they are so focused on killing the monsters, nor do they realize how many times they brush one section of their teeth. This APP and brush combo will have them thoroughly brushing and not have to hear mom nagging them to do exactly that. You won't regret this purchase. I know I don't regret it. I put away their electric toothbrush away. Maybe once their brushing becomes a habit and they outgrow this toothbrush, then I will give them back the automatic toothbrush.

Very engaging & habit maker

My 3 yr old who has ASD hated brushing his teeth & I could never get him to the stool to get him up there. I was having to hold him down to brush his teeth. Now he’s standing on the stool and pretending to brush - it stinks bc he can’t advance because he gets ‘0 stars’ each time and I’m still having to hold him down to get a real brush in but I’m so glad this product has helped me deposit positive experiences for my child in the realm of dental hygiene! It’s not marketed for children with ASD or 3 yr old so I can’t expect Hum to be perfect for him. Love love love this product & recommend to every child!

Game changer!

This toothbrush, along with the Hum by Colgate app, have totally changed how toothbrushing goes in my home. We used the timer function for a few weeks before “splurging” on the toothbrush, and it is not an exaggeration to say that my 2.5 year old now looks forward to brushing her teeth. I was lucky to get her to tolerate 20 seconds before this, let alone a full 2 minutes! Lots of kudos and I have already recommended this to many people.

Love brushing!!

I bought this for my 10 year old almost 11. She even loves this brush & looks forward to brushing I don’t even have to remind her. We used to struggle on the weekends for morning brushing but now I don’t even have to remind her. She actually wishes she could do it multiple times a day but you can only do it twice lol. I highly recommend this for all ages!!! I bought my 3 yr old niece one who doesn’t enjoy brushing her teeth as much, but now she will. Thanks for such a great product. I will recommend to everyone that comes into my work, I’m a dental assistant :)

LOVE!! My sensory child is in heaven

Bought this for our sensory kiddo that is very tech driven. The technology with this toothbrush allows her to brush her teeth while playing games. The more and better she brushes she earns coins to unlock additional filters. I wish we would have purchased this sooner. She is so excited to brush her teeth now and is proud of herself for getting better at brushing

If you have a kid who hates brushing their teeth but loves playing games, this is the endgame. Look no further. This smart toothbrush has revolutionized my 6-year-old's brushing routine. The engaging games with hats, diamonds, and visual upgrades keep him entertained while ensuring a full two-minute brush. Plus, it even helps correct his technique! Highly recommended for making dental hygiene fun and effective. The App is great too! The UI/UX is simple enough to navigate that I can set up my phone and he can do everything. There's tons to unlock and the reward cycle is spaced well. Last note: Not our use case but if you have more than one child, you can setup multiple profiles within the app!

Easy to setup and use

This is a manual toothbrush, stand for a phone, and you use an app to track brushing. It uses the camera and has fun games for kids to earn points brushing. Haven’t had as much pushback when it’s time to brush teeth using this toothbrush and app.

It's was great for about a month and then the app stopped connecting and recognizing the brush while using the app. Still using the toothbrush but without the app.:/

Not for users in Australia

The app “Hum Kids by Colgate” is not available in Australian App Store for iPhone users. So, it’s not useful and too costly for a general toothbrush since it’s not supported by the Hum kids mobile app.
