Easy to install

It was an easy install, but it scratched easily. The screws were also not long enough so I had to get different ones. We will see how it will hold with time.

Just as I order

Had no problems installing. Look nice on doors. Replaced locks that were at house, that I had no key for and for turn knob one.

Can remove keys while in locked position, see comments below

When properly installed, you can remove the keys while in a locked position, but you need to 1. follow the instructions about which side to install first especially about the horizontal/vertical position of the torque bars, and 2. install with the deadbolt in an extended position.

Much sturdier and less complicated to install than the Kwikset it replaced...

After about 6 months of use (only about once a week) the Kwikset key broke off in the lock and couldn't be removed. I bought this to replace it and the keys for this one are definitely much sturdier! Also, the other lock had facing pieces that made it more complicated to install and it didn't look any nicer than this one. This looks great with the black iron of our gate. The instructions were simple, the only thing I would say is that the outside piece without the screws has a torque piece that should be inserted vertically, for the inside piece with the screws the torque piece needs to go horizontal. The instructions weren't really clear on that an it took a few tries to get both sides of the lock to work correctly.

Looks good and works fine

Looks good and works fine. I ordered two locks and one is not a smooth when inserting and turning the key to lock or in lock. But it’s not a big deal because it does the job.

Dont like the keys

Way to difficult to find a store so they can make copies of my key.

ONly comes with two keys

I needed this because my 2 yr old learned how to open the toggle deadbolt. This works perfectly. My only issue is that it only came with two keys, which means I'll have to pay extra for making more keys plus the drive there. I live rural and the nearest hardware store is almost an hour away. ADD MORE KEYS

Good Product - Read The Instructions

This deadbolt is exactly what I needed. It works well and matches the finish of the original handle perfectly. I have installed many of these over the decades, so I went ahead without reading the instructions carefully. The part about aligning the inner & outer parts correctly does make a difference and I had to go back and do the final alignment over to get it to work correctly. Once I followed the instructions it worked like a charm. Happy buyer!

Great price and Easy installation

Great price and product. Were using them for a rental suite to keep doors separate from both area's. Was very easy to install vs what other people have commented and the locks are smooth not sure if that changes with regular use as these are intended to keep living areas separate and secure.

Substandard

The latch bolt ( the small rod type thing that comes in and goes out with the help of a key to lock/unlock the door) became loose just after 4/5 months of usage. It’s has gone loose, gets stuck and does not come out when trying to lock. I am not sure if I have been able to explain well but it’s just not worth buying and is useless after a few months only
