They strech a lot
I purchased a small size (I wear a women size 7). Initially they were perfect, but after a few hours of use they stretched, a lot, so much the I do not think I can use them. Also keep in mind that the thumb cover is pretty cumbersome and in your way if you try to tape on a key board. Buyer beware.

Eh, they're okay...
I bought these in the hopes of using them while hunting. First let me say that if you are planning to use these as mittens while pretty much doing nothing but maybe standing around a campfire, they'd get 4.5 stars. Otherwise... 1. These glovens are extremely thick. The palm/thumb/wrist area thickness is actually great. If you have the mitten flap part folded over your fingers, you're hands are pretty much useless because of the combined thickness of the glove material surrounding each finger plus the two layers of fabric of the mitten part (two layers because of the extra layer to make the hand warmer pocket). The black seam around the edge of the mitten flap is twice as thick as the gray material, which makes it even more ridiculous because of the placement on the inside of your fingers once it's closed. If you actually put hand warmers in the pockets on the front, you might as well be walking around with casts on your hands... 2. The one and only whole day that I wore these gloves, two of the small Velcro circles pulled away from the material, rendering the Velcro useless. 3. With no way to secure the thumb flap closed over your thumb, nor the material being a little longer than it should be so it overlaps, after maybe twice of opening and closing the thumb flap, the whole stayed open (i.e. the flap and thumb material no longer met each other) so about an inch along the middle of my thumb stays exposed. That may not seem like a huge deal, but if you're buying a product like this, it's because IT'S COLD and you want something to keep you warm. Bottom line: Good theory, not so good execution...

So warm
These are way warmer than my regular black everyday gloves. I had to be out in 30 degree weather working and. they really kept my hands warm. I did later add a hand warmer and with they would make the compartment with a button or something as one of them kept falling out. But I still couldn't believe the difference in warmth as I wore my black gloves the day before. I do have small hands for an adult so they were slightly over sized for me but still warm.

Great gloves one design flaw
These are very warm and comfy and work great. The problem is with the velcro on the back of the palm that holds the flap when you remove it from your fingers. The velcro is affixed to the wool with a hot glue gun and it fell off so the flap keeps flopping. I tried hot gluing it again, but it didn't hold. I sewed the velcro piece back on, but it's so hard to sew through the hard lump of cooled hot glue residue and you have to put it in the same place. It happened to both velcro circles on the back of the mitten. You don't really need velcro for the thumb flaps: when you fold the flap back, it's not going anywhere and it's just more velcro and hard hot glue patches. It doesn't do any harm or get in the way, just wish they had the hand flap figured out instead of adding a thumb flap velcro setup. Still warm and comfy and the option to add hand warmers is "cool" - haven't had a need to use that feature.

Finally found these again!!! Best mittens! Very warm!
I’ve had this same pair for well over 10 years in the Midwest weather thru some brutal winters and also having horses to care for. I am so happy I found these here on Amazon and I am buying a second pair as soon as I am done with this review. Best top-off gloves superior warmth! Thumb out is so needed and well thought out! I am a average size woman and these are slightly larger than a medium fit. I washed my first pair and stuck them in the dryer and they never fit the same. These are AWESOME!!!! Getting a back up pair!

Comfortable gloves--take off velcro
The gloves are very comfortable (except for the thumb which is a little tight). I would say the only bad things about the gloves are the velcro patches. There's one on the back of each hand and on the back of thumb used to hold the mitten down. In my opinion neither are necessary and make the gloves slightly unattractive when the mittens are on. Also they get stuck on things like scarfs and fur-lined coats. The other bad (or good depending on perspective) is that the velcro are not attached very well. After a couple of weeks both velcro side of the attachment on the back of both gloves came off, leaving both pieces attached together on the underside of the mitten. Poor craftsmanship, but since I wish it wasn't there in the first place, it was a good thing. Didn't try it with the warmer but it seemed to work well (we'll see next year).

These are awesome - but a couple notes
These are awesome - but a couple notes: They're amazingly toasty - but that hothands pocket, yeah, it doesn't hold that very well - if you're a flamboyant hand talker like I am, you'll hit Grandpa Ned square in the face at a Packer game while trying to explain to him the joyous new sweater you bought for your 36lb mutt. The thumb flap ... I'm a dog walker so the fact that I can attach a leash is great, but the thumb flap does nothing. It just swings down, so you get this burst of icy Wisconsin air straight down to your palm (to which you delightfully find the hothand that flew at Grandpa Ned and you throw it inside your palm and now your glove is in actuality a mitten and the flaps are down.

Do not buy!
I rarely review products, but had to in this case. Bought these as a surprise gift for my wife, what a surprise, really poor quality, stitching came apart after first use, gloves are smaller than described, the velcro patches detached after second use, the thumb opening is a mistake and best of all they are not returnable. Regret this transaction.
