Too big for a garage, metal too soft

Please be aware that the item description is being optimistic about where you can use this: it's really too large for a garage or shed cupola (one member of the family derided the oversize hummingbird as a "buzzard"). We had to return ours because we didn't check the measurements closely enough (and it cost $35 to return the big box, so do choose carefully). I was dubious about whether the pole attachment system would prevent strong wind from pulling the bird off and also surprised at how soft the metal was; most of the flower petals will probably get bent in shipping if it isn't packed perfectly. Some may find this a beautiful design, but I felt that the busy clusters of flowers give an orb-like shape that may not look the way you thought it would on a cupola. This design is going for outrageous prices across the web and even the lower Amazon prices might not be low enough if your flowers come all bent...

Beautiful and well-made weather vane

This is a beautiful and sturdy weather vane. My husband mounted it on top of our gazebo and I've had numerous compliments on it. Mounting on the gazebo, with its 10-sided roof line, was not too easy of a task. We had to buy a special threaded bolt to attach it to the wood frame of the cupola. We originally bought the mounting kit, but it is for a normal shaped roof. Also, the first order we received of the Hummingbird, the soldering on one of the wings was cracked. We returned it to Amazon and a new one was sent.

Recommended with reservations

I give this 3-3.5 stars. Obviously gorgeous, and works as advertised but shoddy construction removes 1.5 to 2 stars. The two copper sides of the hummingbird are differently sized, so they don't line up well, leaving one side longer than the other, especially noticeable on the beak. Beautiful, and not many options out there for a large copper hummingbird weather vane, but I wish that more care was taken in the copper sizing and soldering it together. Overall, if you want a copper hummingbird weather vane I recommend this with reservations.

Very disappointed ????

Very disappointed, I purchased this for my wife as a gift. It came in and when I unboxed it the copper petals were bent on three of the flowers and the large copper ball had two good size dents in it. For the price they charge it should have better quality control or package it better.

Replaced my neighbors as a gift

Neighbor installed one a year ago and he's a bit of a duffous. Don't think he locked the retaining clip down and lost the bird in a storm. Tried to purchase just the bird as a replacement and everyone pretty much wanted the same price as a whole vane setup. Neighbor had E-W upside/down/backwards anyway so I just purchased the whole setup and installed it for him as a unit. Wish someone could come up with a UV resistant clear-coat that would last. Tried coating my sailboat weathervane with automotive clearcoat but it barely lasted 3 months.

Beautiful Weather Vane or Weathercock

This is a very well built and beautiful wind vane. Easy to assemble. You will need to purchase a mounting pole or roof bracket. I would definitely buy from this company again.

Hallo Ich hätte gerne eine Rückmeldung des Verkäufers! Habe diesen Kolibri jetzt gerade mal 1 Monat im freien. Mir ist klar, dass sich das Kupfer verändert und dunkel wird, aber sehen sie sich auf den Bildern an wie sich die Lötstellen weiß verfärben. Das sieht sehr unschön aus, und für mich steht die Frage im Raum- ob sich diese Lötstellen dann mit der Zeit auflösen. Ich ersuche um Stellungnahme! Mfg Manu
