Great piece of gear for running and hiking with my dog.

This thing is rock solid. Knowing I can also track my pup even with no mobile coverage is great. The training features also work well. My dog is generally great, so he is trained to respond to the tone and vibrate with 100% recall. He does not need the shock. I use the TT15 mini with my 60lb poodle, which fits well. As soon as I take it out, he goes nuts as he knows it is walk, runs, hike or ski time. I cannot, say the cost is worth it for most, but for me, it is.

Great product!

This is a great product. I didnt need all the other options on the more expensive color screen garmins. The selling point for me is that with a quick glance I know which direction my dog is from me and how far away she is (the 2 most important things). If i want more visual data I can pull out my phone and look at the app to see full color (but I have never done that in the field, it is fun at home though!). I would not recommend this as a full on training collar. It is not marketed as one. It will do the tone/vib/shock and from like 5 miles away, but there are other garmin collars that are specifically designed for training. But I luv this unit and I use it almost daily.

It’s good I like it 1st use

First one gps antenna wasn’t working, garmin stepped up made it right. I haven’t figured out how to erase dog tracks off map of explorer app. Yet. I hope new hunt isn’t over ran with old tracks.

Great dog tracker

Great little hand held unit. I use for hunting and hiking with the dogs. It also tracks you and dogs through the Garmin app. If you want to see where you are at on the map.

Great compact GPS dog tracking

Good little unit with great tracking and excellent battery life. The only downside is that the training function/stim button is a little small. Pair it up with a Bingfu or other SMA male stubby antenna to throw in your pocket and make the unit even more compact.

Small Hiccup - Do Not Buy to use in Australia!

Have yet to use the Alpha 10 in the field but before I could even pair a collar with it I found I had to do a factory reset. Device started up and paired with my iPhone ok. This triggered an update of the firmware - also ok. But then could not pair a collar to the Alpha 10 no matter what I did. Factory reset the collar and still the same problem. I’ll try to remember to follow up after I’ve used it in the field. Update : Do not buy if you want to use it in Australia. Frequencies are wrong - will not work. Frequencies cannot be changed to work in Australia. Operates in the wrong part of the radio spectrum.
