Sturdy Step for Exercising

I bought this to use with the BeachBody workout, Transform 20. It’s an intense workout that isn’t your normal step aerobics. This step has worked well. I like that you can store the risers underneath.

Great for step classes

I’ve been using this for several months now doing step cardio classes at home and I’m really happy with it. I’ve been using it with the extenders the whole time and it feels sturdy and well made. I use it on wood laminate flooring without a mat and it hasn’t damaged the floor at all. It does slide/shift a tiny bit but I’m sure that would stop if I put a mat under it. Overall I’d recommend this.

Very sturdy and stable!

I use this for step classes that require a lot of movement including jumping on and off the step. I have spent many hours using this and it has never slid or moved while I was exercising. I like having different height options even though I usually leave it on the tallest height (I’m 5’11”). I weigh 185 lbs and never once has it felt like it couldn’t handle my weight or even made my question if it was safe for me to jump on and off. I would highly recommend to anyone that is needing a step for exercise and is looking for a quality step at a good price. It is fairly light weight and can easily be moved around or put away as needed.

Bought post op spinal surgery

I actually bought this for a unconventional reason. I bought this step to put on the side of my bed. I just had my 13th spinal surgery fusion and this one was half of my spine. It was hard for me to get into and out of bed so I bought to help me step up and get up and down in bed (which is set pretty high). With the help of my bed rail I was able to step up into bed and down out of bed safely without over exerting myself or climbing. In spite of the light weight the step does not move or slide at all and can be adjusted a little in height which made it easier for me to get into my high set bed and then when I got a little better I was able to readjust the height again and make it shorter. It felt very sturdy and I am still using it (always with help of my bed rail). Easy, cheap alternative to having to buy a new bed post op

This step does the job for me for this price

It has not cracked and sits flat, I could see if one of the rubber feet comes out then it would wobble so just have to watch that. The legs on each side do not fit in very tightly so it makes it tougher to move around since they come out when you lift it. That is why I gave 4 stars but if you carefully lift by holding each side with legs the it is ok.

Good for beginners

I got this to try Step for the first time in 20 years or so. It's sturdy, affordable, and doesn't take up too much space in my apartment. However, I wouldn't recommend it for more serious steppers unless you have small feet! I am a size 8.5 and the step is too narrow for me. Part of my foot is always hanging off and I'm afraid I might lose my balance or get injured. I can't plant my foot as securely as I'd like to. If I continue on with Step classes through the Obé platform, I will probably upgrade to a wider step.

Workout is not as intense as I expected

Using this for a stepping exercise is still not as intense as walking up or down the stairs, even by using the raised extension. Nor does it burn as many calories as using a treadmill. Most of these items listed on here are pretty much the same design- lightweight and doesn't use any expensive parts or materials. I chose this one based on the reviews. I have not fallen off it, nor does it slide on my wooden floor. However, I would not feel comfortable actually jumping on it or even doing thing related to balance. without a mat or towel under it. Frankly, I use it for stepping exercises to simulate walking up the stairs only, not yoga, jumping, core balancing, or side work.
