Awesome brush

We have an akita/corgi who has a very long and thick double coat. The shedding is so awful, there’s always hair floating around and he leaves tufts on the carpet as he walks. I’ve tried many brushes that people have raved about but most won’t even make it through his hair or just sit on top of his coat and don’t pull out any of the shedding hairs. This one is completely different. It gets down to the bottom layer and pulls out dirt and shedding hair so his coat is super soft and shiny. He loves it too which isn’t normal, he usually runs when it’s time for grooming but with this brush he’ll come and sit if he sees me grab it. The shedding has improved immensely and he seems much happier.

Awesome deferminator

Love the brush. I gwt so much hair off my dog. I do wish it had some protector balls at the tips of the bristles. My dog hates it after a while. The only other thing I didnt like is that it made me buy 2. I only wanted 1 brush. That's why its a 4 not a 5. The quality of the brush is great!

Great product!

I have two Shelties that require frequent brushing. I had debated buying this for months, but I hate being dissatisfied with pet brushes after buying them since they’re so expensive. This brush, however, has exceeded every expectation I’ve had. The last slicker brush I had was rough on their skin and I always felt like I was scratching them, but this one somehow does not irritate the skin! Brushing has become so much more satisfying for all of us.

Removes loose hair and makes your dog's coat shine

I love using this tool to break up the loose hair and extract more hair than a standard comb or brush. After 5-10 minutes of use, you can really notice the difference in your dog's coat. The only drawback of this tool is removing the hair from the brush's teeth is kind of annoying and the small metal teeth can be easily bent. So far this tool has lasted, but I don't expect it to last me through years of use due to the seemingly fragile teeth and the foam padding the teeth are connected to. That being said I do still recommend this brush.

Great for my long-haired cat

The slightly curved bristle side is the one I was after. It does a pretty darn good job of clearing out what I call pre-mats. I would advise to be gentle with this brush because the bristles do NOT have rounded ends. I can see where this brush would be short lived with a larger fur family member and regular use. Oh, the cover is a waste of petroleum products to create a "cover:. I would never use it.

Love This Brush! Have done Furminators for years!

I love this brush! I was a little confused with the two sides but after reading the instructions I understood. The one side with the pins bent at the end towards the handle is for removing the undercoat and mats. The other side with the pins bent away from the handle is for smoothing the coat after removing the undercoat. I like that it bends with the pressure instead of being stiff like most slicker brushes. Those that give negative reviews are probably not using it correctly. I have done many, many furminators and I love this brush.

Too Prickly and Sharp

My dog does not like this brush at all and he normally loves brush time. He’s a mini golden doodle and I think his skin might be too sensitive for such a prickly brush. It’s steel wires. Does get a lot of shed hair out but idk if it’s worth my dog not enjoying getting brushed when he has loved it w other brushes his whole life. Maybe more suitable for larger dogs with thicker skin.

Use with caution

Be carefull, these bristles can be very harsh on the skin. Originally I purchased the firm version of this brush and my dog's skin actually started bleeding. The soft version is slightly less harsh on the skin. I do like how deep this brush gets and how well of a job it removes the undercoat of my German Shepard. However, I have had to optimize the way I use it. I apply little to no pressure on the brush, I more so let it glide. I also check her skin after every few minutes to ensure her skin has not broken and started to bleed. Imagine using one of those bbq grill brushes to brush your dog, that is about the texture of this FURminator.

Looks painful but our dog seems to enjoy it, and it easily removes tangles

I asked our dog groomer what tools I should use on our long-haired German Shepherd Dog in between her appointments with him. He didn't hesitate to recommend some of the FURminator products. This one looks a bit like a lethal weapon, but she happily stands still to be groomed with it, and actually seems to enjoy it. This and the FURminator deShedding Tool are far more effective that the items we were using prior to asking for his recommendation. They certainly help to reduce the amount of hair dropped in the house.

Awesome buy

Needed something to remove some small sections of mats on my 13 lb shih tzu mix. He’s due for a groom so this is helping the in between while we wait for our appointment. This works wonders! I’m able to remove the mats and this makes his fur all fluffy when I’m done. He seems to enjoy it as well even though it sounds rough when youre brushing the brush through his fur. Overall, would recommend. I got the large one as well and it it does the job perfectly.

Magic!

I bought the large size because small was sold out, but it's still a miracle for cats who hate to be brushed. I ordered another because it's so amazing. It somehow takes out mats I thought I was going to have to cut off. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. I thought it might just be a gimmick, but I don't think I can go back to regular slicker brushes again
