Coming out in a few months, THE FLASH finally gets his first full length live action film to audiences. Of course, I am a huge Flash fan from the comic books so I am quite excited. Nevermind all the controversy surrounding the film with its lead actor, Ezra Miller, or production troubles. I’m still a big fan and will give the film a shot upon release. Since the film is around the corner, that means Funko has some nifty POPS in store, including this Amazon exclusive version of The Flash running by and I had to have it. Seeing as there are numerous Flash POPs on the market, one is hesitant to see how this is any different than most of them. Either it be a comics version, animation, film, and even gingerbread version of the character, this one spoke out to me. In this case, there is only a few Flash Pops that actually showing him running. And for me, those few look a bit stoic for me because the figures are running straight up, so me, they look like they are jogging. For this exclusive, The Flash is actually bent over in a true running pose, arms swing and legs bent. It looks kinetic, especially when out of the box. Flash’s head is not a bubble, but instead is turned outward as he wizzes by. The amount of lightning surrounding Flash is also a big draw as it adds a vapor trail from running. It’s just an awesome looking Pop. As for the glow in the dark feature, it’s okay. Like most Pops, the glow is decent, but only truly bright if you have a UV light on to bring out the look. The problem (or positive) about the lightning here is the picture Amazon has is not right. The color of the lighting is dark yellow instead of the crystal clear yellow in the pictures. Heck, it’s even on the box showing the lightning effects as clear-like. It’s not a deal breaker, but I would have liked that clear-yellow look over the thick-dull yellow. In many ways, it doesn’t actually look like lightning because of the dark color. It looks like vines swarming his body. Overall, an pretty great Pop in terms of design and detail, but I find the dark coloring for the lightning to be a minor setback for a near perfect Pop. Had it been the clear look on the box and advertised, I think I would have this a 5-stars. But this is still pretty cool figure.
