8 pack ball set are much smaller than the 9" diameter ball that came with the Franklin bat.
I bought the Franklin plastic bat and ball set. I bought the 8 pack plastic balls too and I assumed that they were the same. I was wrong and I immediately noticed that the 8 pack ball set were much smaller than the ball that came with the bat. Why is Franklin saying that the 8 pack ball set are 9 inches circumference when they are only 8.5" circumference? Maybe they are trying to save on plastic manufacturing cost. I feel like I wasted my money on the 8 ball set. Maybe wiffle balls are actually 9" around. I took pictures comparing the 8 pack ball set, original larger Franklin ball that came with the bat, yellow pickle ball and a tennis ball. You can see the difference in sizes. This 8 pack ball set is similar size to a tennis ball and not a 9" circumference regulation size baseball.

Great Whiffle ball set
Very good basic baseball bat and ball for playing with the kids. Because the ball has holes in it there is a pleasant whizzing sound that it makes if it’s hit hard through the air. What is called “whiffle ball” in the USA. This was just what I was looking for.
