Having made the decision to ditch my gas BBQ and to return to wood fire/charcoal/briquette grilling, I was delighted to find this item. Works as described.

Buy now before they’re outlawed!
Fantastic design and top-shelf materials used to make this fire starter. I’m amazed that the nanny-state / lawsuit-happy society we live in hasn’t gotten this thing off the market yet! When the other reviews mention “flame thrower”, man they aint kiddin! -but thats a good thing when your trying to start green/damp brush piles. One thing to be aware of: the range of adjustment on the flame control knob could be more linear: barely cracked open it will startle you when the flame lights off and shoots 6+” from the wand. Definitely use one of those long-reach lighters and just barely crack the control knob open to light.

It’s a beast
Been using a chimney for years to get the charcoal going for my smoker. The Flame King was awesome. In mere seconds the charcoal lit right in the smoker and thus no more need for the chimney. Time and effort now saved.

Great fire-starter
This is the ticket to get mesquite, and other hardwoods burning fast. This cut 30m from time fire to coal ready to cook with. Connection to propane tank is simple, if you've connected a gas grill this is the same. Start with any flame or spark. Warning, this bad boy 2nds as a flamethrower - be very very careful.

This thing is AWESOME!
We have no natural gas service to our house, so getting a fire going in the fireplace has always been a hassle without spending money on a firelog. With this thing under a couple of regular logs I can have a good fire going in five minutes for a few cents worth of propane. It's a no-brainer!

Don't think, just buy!
Seriously, if you are debating on buying this, stop, just buy it! You won't regret it! Trust me. Makes starting fires stupid proof and effortless! No more messing around with paper, no more worrying about if your kindling is dry enough or small enough. My only regret is not finding this sooner!

Works better than expected
This thing puts out a very impressive amount of flame especially when turned up. Uses propane rather quickly on high setting but doesn't take long to get a fire started. Would recommend!
