Planter base - perfect for making a drinking source with a fountain for the birds

I have been looking for an option just like this to give the birds, squirrels, and bunnies a drinking station. Until now, I was using a smaller plant bae and a very large and deep dog bowl just to provide water. I was able to get a bird bath warmer to keep the water moving in the winter so, I realized I needed something larger but, really did not want to get a standard bird bath. In addition, for some reason this spring, they are all coming in much more frequently so, I was really needing a better option. I decided to look for a larger plant tray since the one I had was working so well. I found this one that comes in a wide variety of sizes and colors and initially was going to get the next size up but, I am really glad I went with the 20”. It is huge compared to my other watering stations and is deep enough to support a solar fountain that sits perfectly in the center ring. Super easy to clean and fill and I am so glad I chose this one. I am hopeful that it will last a few seasons, given I am in a dry and hot climate, I know the odds may not be in my favor but, for the price, it is an inexpensive solution that I will happily replace. Highly recommend for making a drinking and bathing spa for the birds!

Good buy !

I had previously purchased one for my own kitchen. So when my best friend decided that she wanted a red one also I got it. It's strong and I think it will last a long time. She loves it

Handy

Not great for large pots

The saucer is sturdy and good quality, but there is a circular ridge in the center (likely to prevent the pot from sitting in water that drains out). I placed my 12" pot holding a 7.5 foot fiddle leaf fig on it, and it had difficulty balancing on the ridge/the sides of the pot needed better support. May be better for a shorter/less heavy plant!

Replaced the top of birdbath!

The top to my ceramic green birdbath cracked and broke in an early freeze. The company did not have a replacement and I just happened upon this. The color not only matches the base. but, with a rock in the center to keep it from tipping when my birdies land on it, it is perfect. And, cheap at the price. WOW...what a lucky find! I could leave this out in the winter, but in the meantime I bought a heated birdbath from Amazon, which performed beautifully last winter. I put it away this spring because it did not hold enough water in hot weather, which is another advantage to this green plant saucer, it holds a lot of water.
