600 is the maximum for "high velocity" systems

For "high velocity" forced-air systems like mine (according to the manual), any tighter than 600 reduces airflow and performance too much, puts too much strain on the fan, and wastes too much engergy. Even 600 isn't like blowing through fiberglass and clogs more quickly, probably needing replacement every 2 months. But I compromise with every 6 months and have been satisfied. Amazon Warehouse damage was worse than advertised but still not to the point of degrading function, so worth the savings.

My air is cleaner.

I have both a dog and cat. My air return is on the wall next to the floor. Can you picture that? With this filter changed monthly I do not see hair on my coffee table or bedside tables. Will continue to buy this brand.

This size was a difficult size to find locally, good price, simple to install. The only problem I have is they are slightly flimsy, Not bad, just have to not be extremely forceful when installing them.
