great for pet hair

bought this as a backup vacuum (or a "downstairs vac" - I'm done lugging one up and down the stairs). I needed one good on hard floors since most of my downstairs are tile, and I needed one good with pet hair ... the retractable cord is what pushed this model over the top. CONS: I'll start here because there aren't many. *not the least bit self propelled. pushing this vacuum over thick carpet is a workout *and it is old school built, no sharp turns or easy maneuverability. no big deal since I use it primarily on tile. PROS: I'll admit, they're very specific to my needs *not a whole lot of replacement parts to be concerned over ... a washable filter and a belt I think? easy to dump canister and clean up. *the retractable cord!! it doesn't have a super long cord, but I can't tell you how much I dislike winding the cord. this is a breeze. *the absolute best vacuum I have used on hard tile. there is no kickback on small hard bits (dry cat food, usually). the vacuum contains it without kicking it out from underneath and spreading the crumbs elsewhere. *doesn't blow pet hair around instead of picking it up. *and the oddest flex of them all ... the LED LIGHTS! I have a longer haired cat that sheds everywhere and is obvious. those haira tend to clump together, but I also have a short hair cat that I would swear barely sheds, until I ran the vac in a dark room and the LEDs lit up EVERY SINGLE HAIR. I had no clue how much hair was on my tiles. I now use it, in near dark, to catch them all. I'll update if I have issues, but seems to be good so far.

Vacuum

Nice light weight machine. It has good suction and debris is easy to remove from canister. Overall quite nice, however the motor noise is somewhat high - pitched.

I'm impressed

The first thing I noticed was no button to release the handle. Have to put pressure on the head and pull back on handle, not a big fan of that. 2nd for me, cord is on the wrong side. I'm used to cord being in back or on left side. For me, it's not a light weight vacuum but does a good job. Really like the LED lights so it helps to see things.

Excellent, but....

Excellent for dog hair suction (with 3 big dogs inside 24/7, I have a serious dog hair issue). The LED light helped me find the blonde hair in my tile floor. The accessories are easily accessible and functional. The rewind/retractable cord works flawlessly. However, it's movement is linear, with zero maneuverability to swivel around. It's reach under furniture is limited by the handle's range of motion. If it lowered all the way down, then it would fit under the beds. The handle "release" is a bit odd, as it requires stepping on the base of the vacuum, but even when doing so, it makes a very loud "click" and snaps, as if I've broken "something". Not sure if that's normal or if I am in fact "breaking" it. Overall, it's a keeper, as it meets my specific needs, but may not be for someone needing reach and maneuverability.

Pretty nice vacuum

Works quite well, picks up cat hair and dander as well as my old Dyson. A little difficult to maneuver/turn. Would have been nice if it came with a wand extension for cleaning stairs and around base boards. Lots of stooping that's hard on your back with the short handle.. Really like the cord rewind feature and its light weight. One reason I bought this model was for the adjustable height setting , makes vacuuming less of a chore.

Bang for your buck

I've used this vacuum daily for about 15 months. I have hardwood floors and it does an excellent job picking up the crumbs and messes from my three kids, the coarse hair of my dog and my cat's hair. I use the hose attachments for everything... window sills, couch cushions, stove top, baseboards, etc and the suction loss is minimal and gets the job done. I will say it's rather loud as I've found it works best for my floors when it's on "high carpet" so the brush hits the floor. But I love the length of the cord and the rewind feature! I live in 850 square feet and am able to get just about everywhere from a central outlet and retract the cord in seconds when I'm done. The light is SO incredibly helpful, I won't go without one again. I'm having to replace it because as another reviewer pointed out, the step and pull back function to start vacuuming is SUPER loud and clunky and finally stopped working altogether, so the vacuum can no longer stay upright without being propped. I chose another Eureka to replace it as I really do enjoy the powerspeed technology for my purposes, but I made sure the new model has a step button instead.

Good Value

I was trying to purchase a vacuum without spending a fortune. this works well. I has a goos assortment of attachments. The suction seems to be good. I really like the automatic roll up for the cord and the length of the cord is great!! I do not like the way your pull the vacuum back to release it to use, You just put you foot on the base and pull back on the top and it makes a really harsh sound, it makes me think it will not wear well over a long period of theme. Sounds like it is stressing the connection.That will be seen, but the rest seems to be a good value.

Less than a year and blows dust out instead of suctioning.

This product is not worth the money. Nor does there appear to be a warranty. Less than a year and the vacuum is already broken, blowing out dust instead of doing its job.

Cuesta trabajo en alfombras de pelo alto, se atora.

Cuesta mucho trabajo aspirar en tapete de pelo alto (3cm), pero primero la volteo al revés para eliminar basura o tierra y finalmente le pasó la aspiradora rápidamente, de lo contrario se stora y así eliminar el polvo. Todo lo demás excelente, fácil de limpiar y potente.
