Tough Pack for a Pit

After a lot of research, I decided on this pack even though there were no reviews. I like the fact that it has detachable saddlebags, is waterproof, and is reasonably priced. The leash is a nice bonus. It arrived today and seems well-made. As to be expected, the straps were stiff, so it took me a little bit to get all the straps adjusted properly. Surprisingly, my dog didn't fight me putting it on him and adjusting it. A little background about my dog: he's an 80-pound pit, who gets overly excited when walked. Because of that, he spends most of his time running in our yard rather than going on walks with the leash. I read an article that said that working dogs like having a job to do and that a backpack could fill that need. I'm a believer after one use! We put a brick in each side to add some weight and the pack didn't slide during the walk. He even ran a short distance with no shifting. He seemed happy and less stressed than he normally is on leash. The only possible problem I noticed with the pack is that my dog bent a clasp on one of the saddlebags when he caught it on the door trying to get out before the door was completely open (note: this occurred with some force on his part). As I said, he gets overly excited to go on walks. I was able to bend the clasp back, but in the worst case scenario, I will just go to the hardware store and buy stainless steel clasps to replace them. The fabric held up fine even when he caught it on the door. I read some reviews on other products where the bags ripped during the first use. My dog certainly tested this bag when he went out the door, and the canvas stayed strong. I'm used to products not being as strong as they look or claim to be, but I can see us getting a lot of use out of this pack. Now I can't wait to take my dog hiking in the mountains! With the big pockets, he'll be able to carry his own food and water this time.

Overall I'd recommend it

My dog likes this harness. But he also likes getting dressed up. We haven't had a use fit the saddle bags yet. They're quite small in the small size. The hook is at the back of the harness instead of at the top. It's taking some getting used to for his hiking cues. It's as tight as we can get it without hurting him, and it pulls a lot to one side. Otherwise it seems very good quality. I'd recommend it.

The side pouches aren’t fastened it ,just sit on a hook thing so falls off had to zap strap on,pet has a 26” chest but medium seems to be big,ok quality

We haven’t really tried it out yet but It looks great fits pretty good the only thing I didn’t fit is the strap that goes from bag to bag I had to extend it by taking it apart and adding on a piece

Great Product

The product arrived ahead of schedule. It does take a little time to fit it right my dog is at an in between size so a little more playing around to get it to fit right.

Stylish and well made

I love this backpack and I got it on sale! One of my best buys yet!my dog has a weird body but it fits pretty well and she can hold a fair bit of stuff!
