Work but expensive

Very Durable, Very Useful Bad
I work in utility scale solar. I have used this bag for O&M and electrical work. I am that guy who has to buy a tool bag every 1-1.5 months, because they can't stand up to the torture I put them through. My bags are subjected to constant in / out of vehicle while heavily loaded, being placed and knocked around in dirt, sand, mud, rain, snow, and jagged rocks. The environment plus long hours of use per day literally rips my bag apart. So I was pleasantly surprised to see this Dewalt bag is still in the same condition I bought it after a couple of months of constant use. Good on you Dewalt! As far as the function of the bag, I love it! I set it up with the tools I need for the specific job I am performing. The open top is a huge time saver and there are plenty of pocket inside and out to store the range of tools I use (hand tools, various meters, impact drivers, parts, etc). I also love that the handle collapses to fit within my large travel tool tote. In summary, this is a very durable and functional tool bag perfect for heavy use / daily activity! The pockets would be a bit on the small side for large tools, but for an electrician, industrial mixed maintenance, and around the home use, this bag is perfect!

Swivel handle SUCKS. Great idea. Poor design/construction.
I like the bag itself, but it needed some modifying. The swivel handle does NOT latch in place when the bag is filled. It miht work okay filled to haf capacity, but when full the weight of the bag pulls the handle out of the latching mechanism. The plastic latch edges wore out completely in about a month, and I just carried it on a swivel for around 6 months until the sad little rivet holding it wore out, and the handle broke in the same way as photos from other reviews. I didn't contact the seller to replace the item. I like the item, but the person that had the idea for the swivel handle wasn't thinking clearly about that plactic design. I just drilled out the rivets on the broken side and pinned the handle upright. It's much sturdier now. When the other side breaks, I'll just do the same thing. I bought the 18 inch bag so that I could carry PLENTY of my tools. The bag is good for that, the handle's construction isn't as sturdy as I'd expect from DeWalt.

Handle lock broke in the cold
Handle lock for the main long handle broke in the cold. It's still usable but that was very annoying. Also the strap clasps are weak.

Work perfectly for multiple tools
Great storge for techs who have to carry multiple tools a little pricey but it will last a long time

Excellent carrier. I'd get another.
This is an excellent tool carrier. It's constructed very well and is rugged, it's the "right" size, has a good number of pockets, the handle works well, stands up well, and is wearing well although I've only used it for about a year and not very hard. It still looks new. A smaller carrier wouldn't hold enough, and even this one is too heavy when fully loaded. I suspect it meets most or all the design criteria, but here's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5: 1. It's black inside. I'm baffled why so many of these bags are black. If it's even slightly dark, you can't see small tools, parts, etc in the bag. I'm sure Dewalt yellow would look dirty quickly, but at least you'd be able to see inside. 2. It needs some/more pockets that are more suitable for tools like screwdrivers. The only pockets that work well for screw drivers, or other tools where you stick a rod in (awl, scribe, etc.) are the flat pockets on the outside. I'd really like some deeper, narrow pockets on the inside. All the inside and many of the outside pockets are relatively shallow and wide. Screw drivers and similar flop around in these pockets. I still like this better than any of the other (many) carriers I looked at and I'd get another, but I sure would like a lighter interior and better pockets for screwdrivers.

EVERYTHING WITHIN REACH
I purchased this bag to replace an old bag with no pockets that you had to dig through to find what you needed. It might as well have been a box or a bucket. This bag organizes my tools for easy identification and retrieval. It is a big bag with many individual pockets for your screwdrivers, wrenches, or pliers. Has a loop on one end for things like rolls of electrical tape or teflon tape. A larger zippered pocket on the other end for small items. The open top keeps everything within reach for easy retrieval especially when one of your hands are tied up. Very well made.

Lots of storage ... not enough organization
I moved all of my Bucket Buddy setup into the Dewalt tote but I was a little taken back by the lack of useful organization. I've got a plethora of screw drivers (Electrician) and there was a total of ZERO useable screwdriver slots. There were 8x 2" deep slots but not even big enough for a pen. I cut the stitches out of the bottom and manage to slide screwdrivers all the way in. The rest of the slots just were too big or too small for any of the tools I wanted to put in them. Maybe once things clap out a bit, I'll shuffle it around. I'm keeping it because it is yellow and black (Dewalt fanboy)

Lasted 3 years of hard use
I am an electrician and i put about 45 lbs of tools into the last one of these bags that i had and it lasted 3 years before the handle rivets finally let go. i carried it everywhere too it didnt just sit in the van. i was quite impressed. the only nitpicks about it is the large zip pocket at the end is not very high quality, and if i remember correctly it only lasted a few months before the sides started to split out of it. got around that though by just putting a bag inside of the pocket and putting stuff in that so it didnt spill out the sides. the plastic clip that holds the handle upright also broke fairly quickly but i found that to be a nuisance anyways so it didnt bother me. had the new bag for a month or so now and its holding up well. highly recommend this toolbag to any tradesworker out there

I use primarily dewalt everything, this however was a very disappointing dewalt purchase.
The bag is a great size, holds all the tools and materials I frequently use. Pliers, multi screw driver, copper cutters, snips, basin wrench, t-tape, flash light and a couple other random tools. Not thay mich as the bag is big and could be easily over loaded and get to heavy if your not careful. That's the only plus. The negatives: The shoulder strap provided with the bag is terrible. It's thin and offers no support or comfort, considering the size of the bag and the weight due to the size, the shoulder strap should have been padded and better fitted for a shoulder. I swapped it out with one from another tool bag, a padded comfortable one. A couple of the outside pockets ripped at the bottom of the pockets. I carry Knipex/dewalt and channel lock pliers in these pockets, no sharp edges, no points, but yet the base of the pockets tore open..... The large zippered pocket on the end of the bag decided to completely let go. The stiching from the zipper to the bag split and is now a gapping open am I can not close the pocket anymore. For reference I carried safety glasses, a couple lighters, a small tube of locktite and a small pen flash light. Not enough to burst the seams of the pocket.

My second one of the same bag
I'm an electrician. I've used this bag in the past and enjoyed it. My last one got stolen. I couldn't find the same one locally. I like being able to see my tools at a quick glance. ** My only complaint is that the shoulder strap attachment points keeps bending with the weight of my tools.

Great storage capacity
This is a fantastic tool bag that holds just about everything so I don't need to carry around a 2and tool bag. Having said that I failed to consider the weight when I filled it with all my tools. Still rate 5 star and would buy again. Great quality. RE Lane
