Well-Done, Top-Heavy

This is a cool-looking skull replica. My son has already appropriated it for his room, and it's next to his bust of Beethoven and favorite mineral collection. I did more invertebrate paleo (and micropaleo) in school, so I cannot speak to the authenticity of the skull morphology itself. But from a regular person's viewpoint, it looks neat. They have reproduced that "museum skeleton cast" look quite well, and the fact that they didn't attempt to smooth it out and make is perfect and glossy helps. My one complaint would be the base. While it has nice rubberized feet on it, in comparison to the skull portion, it's a bit too light. The whole thing feels a bit top-heavy, and with the material the skull is made of, I'm afraid one tip-over and it's game over. Only time will tell. In the meantime, this raptor looks pretty good in my son's room!

Arrived broken. My son was heartbroken.

My son who has autism was so excited about getting this replica for his collection. When we opened the box, we found that the replica was broken. There is a piece in the skull that is supposed to be attached to a hollow rod which is used to display the replica. This piece was broken off due to how cheaply this item is made.

This is an amazing statue that truly looks like a real fossil of a dinosaur skull on a mount.

This Design Toscano Velociraptor Dinosaur Skull Fossil Statue looks amazing in our study, and it truly looks like an authentic fossil dinosaur head on display, musem-style! My youngest son is a special needs kiddo who is obsessed with all things dinosaur (and anything to do with dinosaur fossils), and he absolutely loves this one. He loves staring at it! It arrives with the head separated from the stand, but all you have to do is connect the two and place it where you want it. I also like that you can swivel the head a little if you want it to stick out more on the side or angle it a little differently, etc. This worked out perfectly on a shelf in our study, and it really adds to the ambiance in there. It's a fascinating statue to study, as it is incredibly detailed and looks so real. My son firmly believes it's a real one and I can't convince him otherwise, LOL. It's a really nice size that's neither too large, nor too small - and it really looks neat and incredibly unique. Everything about this is well made and fairly sturdy, and it really is an amazing piece of art that is sure to be a conversation starter, no matter where you place it. It certainly gets two thumbs up from this household!

In my book, EVERY dino fan should aspire to eventually own one of these. I got this for my son and we could not be happier. It is absolutely beautiful. It is so much more impressive in person than the picture even represents. Absolutely beautiful. This is made so well it could be put in a museum and fool people, seriously. I can't think of a better gift to get the serious hardcore dinosaur lover in your life. This is the crown jewel of all of the dinosaur gifts that I have ever gotten for him We're talking tear-inducing star power here. It is really that good. Fantastic quality and attention to detail. Absolutely love this and I am sure he will cherish it for years to come. Such a wonderful treat! 5 BIG stars! The perfect must-have gift for the dino lover that has everything!

looks great, nicely packed

A great product for dinosaur fans 1) Packing: This came tightly packed in a manner that completely ensured protection but wasn't extreme (i.e. wasteful over-packaging). 2) Look: Sharp, clean lines. Sharp details. Nothing looks rounded when it should be sharp, jagged when it should be rounded. Nothing looks like a shapeless mass or vague representation. Everything is clear, such as teeth, eye sockets, etc. The surface is a dull beige/white, not chalky looking and nothing rubs off. A very good look. 3) the head swivels so you can place the base where it goes best and then turn the head for its best advantage We all love it!

Came broken

The stand holder cam broken apart from the cast skull. Lots of pieces flaked off and busted from around where the stand was to mount. I bought it for my son’s birthday and decided to make a repair as opposed to sending it back and getting a new one. After the repair was made it looks pretty good. However, cost to quality product ratio might be a little off for this item. Still, I like it and my sons likes it.
