The perfect strike plate for our house in the Bahamas.

A nice well shaped strike plate that is perfect for our place in the Bahamas. It would be nice if they were a little thicker, but they are fine as is, and are showing no signs of corrosion.

better than original

I replaced all my satin nickel finish strike plates with these stainless steel ones. Now when they wear some I wont see the change in color as the satin nickel finish is rubbed off. They are real stainless all the way through so no wear will show since the color will be the same. The only things different are: 1. there is more metal around the screw hole and is a counter sink type so the screw wont pull through. 2. My Kwikset had rear rounded corners, these new ones are almost squared corners, so I used a grinder to round them, easier than chiseling the door jam. Because they are stainless steel, you wont notice any difference in the finish after grinding corners off. 3. I used #8 x 2 1/2" flathead stainless steel screws bought at hardware store, to make door harder to kick in. I have had to buy six sets of two to complete my whole house.

Had to adapt

It worked out ok. The existing ones wound up being larger and the holes were larger so I had to adapt.

Real Stainless Steel Door Strike. Two per package. Very Good Price.

These are real stainless steel (non-magnetic, austenitic stainless steel). Many products from China are labeled "stainless steel" when they are actually cheap chrome-plated steel. These are the real deal. The supplied screws are not stainless steel. I replaced the screws with some actual stainless steel screws. So far, so good The back corners are a smaller radius than most common strikes, so you might have to do a little work to fit these to your door frame. Two per package.

Seem decent so far

Standard holes, easy to install. Hopefully the stainless steel finish will hold up in weather.

Only time will tell

We live on the coast and our old striker plate on the outside door was rusty and ugly. Hopefully this stainless steel striker is a quality that will last without corroding. The add for these does not say what grade of stainless steel it is made of. Only time will tell.
