Concorde er et turbojet-drevet supersonisk passagerfly, som blev udviklet i fællesskab af Storbritanniens British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) og Frankrigs Aérospatiale under en engelsk-fransk traktat i begyndelsen af 1960'erne. Da den første kommercielle flyvning fandt sted i 1976, forblev den i drift i 27 år. Kun 20 Concordes blev nogensinde produceret, hvoraf kun 14 fløj kommercielt, 7 af British Airways og 7 af Air France. Concorde brugte 4 Rolls-Royce/SNECMA Olympus efterbrændende turbojetmotorer for at nå supersoniske hastigheder, nåede 1.350 mph, den fløj med Mach 2.0 lufthastighed, mere end dobbelt så høj lydhastighed. Flyet målte næsten 204 fod i længden med plads til 92 til 128 passagerer og strakte sig mellem 6 og 10 tommer under flyvningen på grund af opvarmning af flyskroget. Det fløj også højere end andre kommercielle passagerfly og fløj i højder på omkring 50 til 55 tusind fod. Da dets nåleformede design gjorde det svært for piloter at se landingsbanen under start og landing, falder næsen 5 grader for start og 12,5 grader for landing for bedre udsyn. En typisk overfart fra London til New York ville tage lidt mindre end tre en halv time i modsætning til omkring otte timer for en almindelig kommerciel flyvning. Concorde registrerede sin hurtigste rejse fra New York til London den 1. januar 1983, hvilket tog 2 timer og 56 minutter. I it not a good purchase

The front landing gear broke off and the tail came off it's a poor model

Beautiful model

Nice color and detail. I ordered two; one sits at my desk at work and the other I suspended with 10lb test fishing wire in front of a map on my wall at home. Not a toy of course; it's a scale model. To-scale landing gear are tiny and will not withstand your kid bashing it around. My only complaints: QC is iffy and the peg on the mounting base doesn't hold the fuselage firmly enough, so it comes off too easily. To elaborate: on one of them, the landing gear is crooked and the gap between the wing and fuselage is small but noticeable. The other one I ordered had none of these defects.

Not for kids

The concord nose is way too sharp for kids the wheel broken in minutes

Incredible detail and its weight speaks to its quality. One flaw is that the model will not fit securely to the top of the support arm. This is my third of these high end diecast models by Daron and the only one that has had this issue. Luckily, it looks just as well displayed sitting on the deployed landing gear.

Nice model suitable as a gift

Nice plane, nice packaging suitable for a gift. The model could be slightly more stable / robust (it leans a little to one side), but this is a detail.

Really nice quality

Great quality model! Looks very realistic and is the talk of my department. The base fits in well and holds it at a nice angle. I prefer to have my on the wheels though. (the wheels do not spin sadly) If you like the Concorde or British Airways then i would recommend this for sure.

A good model

Good model of the Concorde. THIS IS NOT A TOY! The nose is very pointed and can easily poke a small child so keep it away from children. The plane is a little slanted when put on the stand but other than that its a great representation of what could've been.

I've seen better...

Its a decent model, but the undercarriage is cheap plastic and really doesn't hold the weight of the piece. As for the stand - it is useless - it's plastic, the model is die cast metal - and it cannot hold the weight. If you want a model to sit on the stand rather than just on its wheels, buy another one.

Adding the stand to the aircraft

I would have given it 5 out of 5, but I am having trouble put the stand into the aircraft, is there a simple way to put it on the Concorde Aircraft. Appreciate your reply ... Lorna Sharf
