Excellent Artist Quality Paint

Daniel Smith’s products are great quality. Highly pigmented and transparent, this gorgeous color moves between a deep glowing gold and a warm, glowing yellow, depending on your pigment to water ratio.

I love this color. Depending on the amount of water used, you can get orange and yellow gradations that are beautiful.

Bright, vivid color, so worth the money

I purchased this product after trying various other watercolors because of the price. All told, I spent more money trying to duplicate this color than I did buying it. I have found all of the Daniel Smith watercolors to be awesome. They are heavily pigmented and a little goes a long way. If you are in an art class and the instructor is using them, anything else will literally pale in comparison. They are worth the investment whether you are a hobbyist (as I am) or not.

A very unique shade

This is one of those special Daniel Smith colors that is so great, it's worth buying the tube rather than trying to mix something this exquisite on your own. It's a rich, bold golden reddish color that I guess looks like Australia (I've never been) but I've been to Tuscany and this is that color in my mind's eye. It's magnificent and the transparency is amazing! I love to use this in washes because the gradation qualities are tremendous. Yes, Aussie Red Gold has become one of my favorite Daniel Smith colors. Wow. Five stars.

This Aussie Red Gold from Daniel Smith is SO beautiful. I can see myself using it for sunrises, sunsets, florals, autumn scenes, mixing for skin tones, lamplight... It just glows and I look forward to mxing with it. It is the most beautiful color I have purchased this year.

Premium Brand

Daniel Smith Extra Fine watercolors, a premium brand is available from Jerry's Artarama and now from Amazon. The Quinacridone colors and Aussie Red Gold are amazing for brilliant autumn scenery. A few drops is all it takes for vibrant, transparent paintings.

The best watercolors, a bit too pricey on Amazon.

Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor 15ml Paint Tube, Aussie Red Gold I got this at Amazon because none of my local shops sell this particular pigment, normally I find Amazon prices at least 5$ more than the art shops in my city, so I only get the pigments I cannot otherwise find locally. I really like this brand of watercolors, but you can find cheaper elsewhere in Canada at very competitive pricing, and cheap or free shipping too.

I'm a Daniel Smith fan...

and when I saw it demonstrated during a tutorial on U Tube and then heard it mentioned on Colour in Your Life I thought I'd order it. I am so pleased I did. I have used it over and over and although it seems a shame to use it in mixes it does have an ability to alter bought greens beautifully. Having said so it is such a luscious warm reddish shade it deserves to be exploited unmixed as often as possible.
